Resident's Assistant Companionship Reflection

The first couple of weeks are arguably the most important time to build relationships. I understand that as an Resident’s Assistant the goal is to build these key relationships as soon as possible. So during the first couple of weeks I would try to talk to them and learn more about them. To do that I feel it is important to knock on each door and learn about them individually but also getting to know them as a group is also very important (especially with Freshmen). Therefore, I would try to have a couple of exciting programs so that these students can build relationships not only with me, but their hallmates as well. If these residents can make friendships with each other, so they can have many great years of friendships!!
