Statement Of Purpose: A Career As A Resident Assistant
After one semester as a Resident Assistant, I knew I wanted to continue this great opportunity into next year. This will allow me to improve some aspects and continue with ideas that I believe worked over last semester. There is always an opportunity to learn new things and I believe continuing my job as an RA will assist me with this. In the upcoming year, my most significant goal is to create a community where everyone feels at home, safe, and welcome. This provides residents with motivation and a comfortable environment to grow, study, and get involved in. I want to create a strong, open community that encourages residents to form new relationships with myself and others in the community. Also, students are more likely to stay in school

I would like to apply for Special Assistant. I work well with others, but am also self-motivated and can get things done without someone constantly reminding me what I need to do. I am the president of the Zero Waste club, and an honor student. I take pride in everything I do, and strive to go above and beyond what is expected from me. Working well with others along with good communication is a strong suit of mine. In soccer I am center defense (sweeper), so I have to tell the outside defenders who their mark is, and make sure the other team does not get past us. In tennis I play doubles, so I constantly communicating to the other player to make sure one of us has the ball, or to tell them that it is out so they do not have to work as hard.…

I had amazing clinical experiences at great teaching hospitals where the preceptors and mentors were a great resource in my learning process. As with many new graduate nurses, I applied to numerous positions taking whatever position that was offered. In April of this year, I was offered a position at a well known hospital and clinic. I was sad to leave the current clinic I work for, but I know that as RN this was a great opportunity to develop new skills. I look forward to providing care and assessment to patients and being a mentor to those incoming…

My initial motivation was to study medicine. However, this novelty of an idea wore off as I have learned that the road to success and pursuit of happiness in life is not necessarily a straight one. This has encouraged me to follow my heart no matter how daunting the journey can be. William James once said “the greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being has the power to alter his life by his attitude”. It is deeply rooted in this philosophy that I desire to become a physician assistant (PA) where I hope to provide quality healthcare to the underprivileged, an area of medicine, which I have noticed to be dramatically underserved.…

My life has granted me fantastic opportunities to mature as a Christian woman, a researcher, and as an aspiring physician assistant applicant. My first exposure to PAs occurred while I was volunteering at the hospital. My science and counseling background drew me to the flexibility in medical fields, the trust placed in PAs, and the complexity in diagnosing illnesses in the PA practice. I oftentimes saw PAs working alongside doctors, nurses, and residents in improving quality health care. I find Seton Hall’s physician assistant program, the most feasible to develop scientifically, clinically, and ethically.…
