Hence, it may be suggested that people who rely on kinesthetic learning would be more successful attending a technical school, certification program, or registering for an apprenticeship. Although pursuing a degree from an online college is possible, it could prove to be more difficult without proper organization and

After taking the VARK learning styles questionnaire, I was defined as a kinesthetic learner. Kinesthetic learners take in information best by practicing using the information. This often involves physical activity, which is why most athletes are kinesthetic learners. I feel that the learning style assessment accurately described the way that I learn best. I do not gain much from just sitting in a lecture, but from actively engaging in the course material. Therefore, it is a valid claim that I am a kinesthetic learner.…

The only problem with theses students is that they are not suited to learn in this manner. By taking a more modern approach, we can incorporate movement and manipulative for those kinesthetic learners. At the same time we can open the floor for more material related conversation as well as more visually striking charts and graphs to further educate our auditory and visual learners respectively. Even though it seems more hectic and even chaotic, and it is, I feel it is more productive in the overall education of our youth.…

The multimodal learning style is highly adaptive and is the most common type of learning style. It can encompass a strong preference two or more of the styles, or an equal preference for all of the 4 learning styles: aural, visual, read/write and kinesthetic. According to Fleming, students who prefer the multimodal learning style tend to fall into two categories: the context specific approach and the whole-sense approach. (Fleming, 2011, para.2). These two approaches are not strictly delineated; there are often some transitional areas between each style.…

Basic training, lots of kinesthetic practice. Thankfully I could rely on my visual learning. Someone would show how to do something before we were asked to do the same thing. I have discovered it is the same in school. In some cases things are demonstrated, by way of a paper example or with someone going through the steps of a process. I think math was the most repetitive work, especially with the calculator. Now we are given many chances each week to practice our writing…

you show up, sit down, and take notes for hours on end until your hand cramps up. Very few students prefer that kind of learning environment. Kinesthetic learners absolutely hate this style of learning. Since about a third of students are kinesthetic learners I think their learning style should be catered to in the class room. They like to try things out for themselves until they figure it out. Like in math classes they can get a formula for solving equations but they'll never fully understand how to use it properly until they try it out. When they sit in the classroom taking notes all class period they have to wait until they leave the class to try it out, which takes away time from them to learn the content to the best of their abilities. Teachers need to remember that a lot of students can't just watch them or listen to them talk about a topic and understand how it…

There are different styles a student can use to study and learn. Although most have used the procrastination style, which was not covered on the VARK questionnaire, consisting of all day and night cramming before the test. Everybody knows that the procrastination style is one of the worst ways to study and comes with the stress and anxiety. Learning is something that we all do each and every day. It is important to be aware of the type of learning that suits you the best so that you can retain the most information possible. Learning and education have always been a big piece of becoming an adult. As a child you must go to school full time and make decent grades in order to finish school. Learning hasn’t always been what it is now. Education used to be hours of lecture with a test at the end, whereas now education has so many different approaches such as presentations, group assignments, visual context and even games. Combined with this was instruction about adult learning styles, how to recognize a trainee’s particular style, and how to engage and accommodate auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners. I was able to participate in numerous self-assessment exercises and learned that at times I was more of a visual learner, but other times I preferred a more hands-on approach. I believed that most people would benefit from having all three of the major learning styles incorporated into their training. As a result, I adapted the facilitator’s manual so that each section of the training contained a built-in lesson that supported each learning style. In addition, in an effort to better accommodate the adult learner, I adapted portions of the manual to include quizzes, problem-solving activities, exercises that could be completed independently, and role-playing…
