If acceptance is achieved through similarity, then is the road to acceptance worth getting lost on; is acceptance worth losing ourselves? A person’s individuality is what makes them who they are, but what about those who aren’t happy with who they are? There has been a growing awareness about concussion injury in sport, particularly in the last decade. Ten years ago, it was estimated that upwards of “…300 000 sport-related concussions occur[ed] annually in the United States and account[ed] for 75% of all sport-related brain injuries” (Bloom et al., 2008, p.295). Given the more educated understanding of concussion injury and its symptoms, coupled with the significant increase in international sport participation, this number is significantly larger today. With a better understanding of the potential negative performance and health consequences of this type of injury, researchers are focusing their efforts on fast-paced sports involving high-speed collisions (Dick, 2009).…

A positivist generally adopts a deductive approach usually achieved by looking at causes and facts without taking into account any subjective matters (Collins & Hussey, 2003). Saunders, et al. (2007) described that the positivist approach persist of data collection technique, also known as quantitative research method that can be collected using questionnaires. This approach suits the main proposed research methods, which is the statistical analysis of data gathered by way of a questionnaire. Saunders, et al. (2007) also mentioned that by analysing the data gathered through questionnaire, we would be able to detect the possible relationship between the variables and build a model of the relationships. As the objective of this research is to test numerous hypotheses, using the quantitative method, possible relationship between the factors can be identified and studied further (Creswell, 2009).…
