I was 3 years old when the 9/11 attacks happened. At the time, I was too young to remember or to understand what was going on. When I became old enough to know what happened, I got scared because I thought that there could be another terrorist attack any day. I think that security should be a little better at checking people at airports considering the hijackers easily snuck weapons past them. All in all, I feel bad for all the families who lost loved ones. 9/11 was a tragic day in…
remember my mom turning on the television. I had seen planes crashing into the twin towers and…
Hearing the event from the perspective of a person who wasn’t directly affected or near the crash introduces a whole new type of experience. People, who like my parents, only received notice of the crash because of a family member they had no idea was in any kind of danger. My parents, at the time, weren’t aware of the importance of the Twin Towers or this possibility of a new worry of terrorism. They were able to be reassured simply by the fact that every loved one in the U.S then was okay. This particular perspective added to my knowledge of the personal experiences of the event, how the impact of the event can immediately increase because of a loved one being involved. Another detail from the interview that added to my knowledge was my mom…
It was unusually cold on this morning of September 11th, 2001, and my alarm had just went off. The odd but needed 5 am. was when I woke up, because my flight was going to leave around 8:30 and I needed to be there on time. The reason I was flying to San Francisco was I was having a family reunion with my dad, my step-mom, and my step-brothers. So, I jumped in the shower quickly with joy and excitement. I hadn't seen my family in forever since I had gotten a job as the assistant of the manager in Ralph Lauren Headquarters. I had just gotten my hair dried as I heard my phone ring. It was dad, making sure that I was on my way. I talked to him for a few minutes and then hung up. I glanced at the clock and realized…
How could this terrible thing even ever happen? For this to happen is like the chances for me to win the lottery. How wasn’t the US military or air force able to prevent this from happening? It just very depressing to find out how many people who died from this incident. But I cannot really feel the moment that most people had because I was only two years old, but I really can feel the intensity and soreness that most people feel about 9/11. Learning more about 9/11, I really wonder how the security is advanced now than twelve years ago when 9/11 happened. Founding out about 9/11, I really got to see how the nation got so much closer after 9/11 happened, and that it didn’t matter about your race or age. Many lives were changed after this dramatic incident happened. This incident makes me think differently now than I did before, about situations that happens in my life.…
September 11, 2001 was a day that impacted the entire nation. Every individual American has a different opinion on how they feel about the events that took place. I was standing in front of the North Pool of 9/11 Memorial with my friends. A blurry animation of a moment was forming in my memory. I was thrown back to Tehran, Iran, 2001 when I was an Afghan refugee escaping from a massacre by the hands of Taliban from being a Hazara - an ethnic minority. I saw the Twin Towers on a black and white TV. I saw how they collapsed and disappeared in the dust. The magnitude of the collapse took me back to July 2015. I was struggling to make a bigger picture of my identity in my mind.…

Shock, disbelief, and devastation were just a few of the emotions that people around the world were experiencing on September 11th, 2001. On what seemed like a normal day in Manhattan, New York, little did everyone know it was the beginning of a huge unthinkable disaster. 8:46 a.m. was when the first highjacked plane had hit Tower One. Not too long after, the second tower was hit. Dozens of fire crews responded as soon as they heard the news. The issues that were recognized in the outcome of this terrorist act were social, psychological, and economical.…
The United states all changed that day, that one day made us rethink our whole nation, our security, even making us wonder if we really had freedom. We never knew this attack was planned for days, months, even years. We didn’t take that February, 1996 attack serious and the declaration of war on us from Osama Bin Laden.Five years later that mistake killed thousands, injured hundreds, but impacted millions. That day was nine eleven.…
Fear and sudden shock settled into the minds of the world when the planes crashed into the World Trade Center. The aftermath left us all speechless, standing in silence looking to others of some type of answer. We can never forget, what we can never understand. Terrorism is a problem the world deals with everyday. But what came after is a much bigger problem.…
On September 11, 2001, all across the United States million of people were waking up; taking children to school, and going to work. This was not a normal day for people all across the United States. There were millions of people around the world watching the terrorist attack; and not believing this was happening. The first attack, a plane hits the north tower of the World trade center in Manhattan New York; followed by another plane into the second tower about 20 minutes later. Both towers collapse. Practice was over after dark and I and my brothers were on our way home, when out of nowhere we heard “there they go lets getem, lets string them up” we started running for our lives. We felt that if we made to the military base we would be safe, but the eleven or so white assailants had other ideas. They cut off our exit to freedom. The next move was to find somewhere safe other than the base. I had a friend at school named Jessie and I knew where he live so we ran there. His mother opened the door to see three little black boys standing scared out of their minds. She asked what was wrong and I told her they were chasing us. She came out on the porch with her shotgun full rock salt and cleared the corner. Jessie’s mom then took us to the entry point of base. We thanked her and went home. After that night it was really hard to be outside after dark with worrying about be chased or being hung.…

I Remember I Was 6yrs old, and My Mom Came & Woke Me Up, & Brought Me Into Her Room and Sat Me On The Seeder-Chest In Front Of The Bed. & The News Was Already On. And I Remember Every Detail That Happened That Day. How Everyone Was Crying, & I Didn't Understand What Was Going On. When I Watch The First Tower Fall. I Didn't Understand What Happened, But My Mom Was Screaming and Gasping & Crying So Much. So I Started Crying Because, Everyone Else Was. But When I Said "Mommy Look Those People Are Flying, Why Are They Flying Mommy?" She Just Grabbed Me & Said "They're Flying to Heaven Baby" & Then The Second Tower Fell, & People On The Ground Were Running From The Smoke, And Then Everything Went Silent & People On The News Were Saying Both Of The Towers…
