Why Did 9/11 Happen
On September 11th, 2001, it was a Tuesday morning in the state of New York. At 8:45, an American Airlines plane flew directly into the north tower of the World Trade Center. The crash left a giant burning hole in the building by the 80th floor of the 110 story building. Hundreds of people instantly died, while hundreds were still trapped on upper floors. 18 minutes later, a second plane hit near the 60th floor of the south tower. This crash caused debris to rain all over people and buildings nearby. People instantly knew America was under attack. At 9:45 a.m. a third American Airlines plane crashed directly into the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Less than 15 minutes later, the south tower of the World Trade Center collapsed due to the heat of the burning jet fuel. Then, about a half hour later, the north tower collapsed. There also was a fourth plane that was delayed. Due to the delay, passengers learned that hijackers were aboard and fought them, causing the plane to crash …show more content…
Al-Qaeda is the group responsible for the 9/11 attacks. Bin Laden initially denied involvement in the attacks but then eventually admitted that he was involved. US forces found a video tape in a destroyed house in Jalalabad. The video shows that Bin Laden was planning the attacks and that he was responsible. Nearly 10 years later, Bin Laden was killed in Pakistan by Special Forces. Bin Laden was responsible for the 9/11 attacks and was eventually found and killed. I was 3 years old when the 9/11 attacks happened. At the time, I was too young to remember or to understand what was going on. When I became old enough to know what happened, I got scared because I thought that there could be another terrorist attack any day. I think that security should be a little better at checking people at airports considering the hijackers easily snuck weapons past them. All in all, I feel bad for all the families who lost loved ones. 9/11 was a tragic day in
