It is hard to predict where I would start my career as an engineer. Firstly I would try to find work in Astana, because I want to get some initial experience. But by now, I do not know any companies in Astana where the electrical engineers are required. Then, after some years, maybe I would try to find a work in foreign English speaking country and get some work experience there. I want to learn more things from there. Learn their system, working style and other things related to my profession. Then, after coming to Kazakhstan I would try to implement the good things that I had learned in other countries. Then after settling down in Kazakhstan I would try to find a job that is interesting for me. When searching for the job where I want to stay for a long time, good relationship with colleagues is an important issue for me.
If say I will work 5-10 years in an industrial company in Astana.

After between 5 and 10 years employment as an engineer most engineers have the choice of either moving into management roles or of developing their technical skills further and becoming a more technical expert. Both career paths are highly valued and rewarded. Reflect on where you see your engineering career taking you and which of the two paths you might choose to follow. Explain what attracts you to your choice and consider how you might like to see your career unfold. In considering your future career you should also note that engineers might be expected to work for at least three different organizations during their career and that the engineering profession is international with opportunities to work outside your home country. This submission should be about 3 paragraphs in length.

The position of a manager is a foreign occupation to me. I have worked as a charge nurse for about 3 years but to be manager has always seemed overwhelming to me. I have to the opportunity to precept with Wayne Martin, who is currently the manager over the Emergency Department at Southeastern Health. He is also managing the MedCare Unit which is a critical care transport team for the hospital. To begin the morning, we started with a financial meeting with different departments such as the IT department and different business departments. The emergency department is required to go to this meeting because this is the initial part of patient care. Discussions seemed every overwhelming to me. I have never really understood the financial situation of the hospital but with the changes with Obamacare, the hospital has really taken a big hit. Conversations about cost and ways of saving and processing patients seemed to be the focus. In my opinion, the individuals involved with this meeting see patients as dollars bills and not humans. It was very dishearten to hear some of the discussions. I do understand that bills have to get paid but it was very foreign to me.…

I believe that my background in engineering and management has prepared me for such a career. I have found research fascinating since my engineering days, where I received the highest marks in the Department for my final-year undergraduate dissertation; and was judged to have presented the best paper at a Departmental seminar. My four years of engineering education have provided me with a strong grounding in mathematics (I stood first in my Department for each of the four Math papers) and the theoretical aspects of technology.…

Currently, I am employed as a Procurement Manager. It is a mid-level management role and the second role that I have held with Company over two years. I have also held several mid-level management roles over the past six years with other organisations. Until just recently, I had a career goal to progress into a more senior level management role, within the next one to three years, either within Company or with another company. Due to the downturn in the current economic climate with the coal mining sector and the potential for myself to be made redundant I decided to activate a backup plan and apply for several other very senior management positions.…

Why do I want to be a civil engineer? Until recently, I did not know the answer to this question myself. I was lost when choosing a career. Then, I read about civil engineering, an occupation involving the construction of buildings, roads, and bridges. As I looked farther into civil engineering, I liked many of the other aspects involved with the career. Although the education will be difficult, I have determined that civil engineering is the career that I want to pursue. What is civil engineering? This career can not be defined using just a few words. The many obstacles that civil engineers must overcome cover a vast area of responsibilities. “Civil engineers conceive, plan, construct, and operate facilities that meet basic human needs and reach out toward the realization of society’s most noble goals” (Auburn 106). Civil engineers solve real world problems with the combination of applying mathematics and natural sciences (Hagerty and Heer 2-3). Upon deciding to pursue a career in civil engineering, I must have many attributes that help me decide for myself if I am right for this career. Probable civil engineers can be found occupying their childhood time with…
