Prairie Meadows Scholarship Essay

Prairie Meadows Scholarship Industrial Engineering has always been an interesting career for me. My step father is an industrial engineer. I have been to his work and watched him and thought it was intriguing, so I decided it is the career I want to pursue. He has shown me a lot of different things he does at work. Designing things using autocad is what he does a lot. I have taken autocad classes in high school and thought they were easy, I understood what I was doing, and thought it was interesting.
The Prairie Meadows scholarship will help me pursue a career in engineering at Iowa State University. It will help me go to community college first to get my basic courses out of the way before I go to a four year school. The money will help me pay for books. I will help my community strive by making everyone feel welcome to help with anything that needs to be worked on. Anyone will be able to contribute in these projects, as they will be hands on, and fun for kids.
When I become an engineer I will improve the quality of life in the modern world. I will do this by building things that are needed. I will help generate new ideas for things to do around my community and my state. Making my community a better place to live is my number one priority. In my spare time I can develop new housing developments around the city.
Being a good listener is a key strength that I have, I can listen to my community and its needs. Listening to what people think I can do for the modern world is something I would like to do. Being a good listener will help me be a better worker because I know the deadline for things to be done at work and get them done on time.
