COURSE OBJECTIVES
Course Description: The course will provide the theory and practice of real estate investment analysis. Real estate is a distinctive asset class for investment, requiring successful real estate investment professionals to have specialized knowledge of the characteristics of real estate investments, analytical skills and a practical understanding of industry practice. This course will provide a broad coverage of real estate investment, finance, and valuation. We will study different measures of investment performance, the impact of the financing decision on real estate investment risks and return, and various real estate financing techniques.

The course outline follows. This syllabus is provided for your guidance and will be updated from time to time. I may add or delete some minor topics as the course proceeds. (Any item discussed in class or posted on the course website supersedes this preliminary syllabus, so attend class and check the course website frequently.)
