SRC’s organize a market day at Damelin Menlyn to get the students more involved in the social activities of the campus.

Background to the Project
Market day on the Damelin Menlyn campus with R2000 for prizes.
The above excludes the money that will be received from students for renting stalls which is R100 per stall.
Statement of Requirements

Needs:
Sufficient amount of space for stalls
Water and Electricity for stalls
Judge panel
Advertisement of tickets for market day
Sufficient amount of stalls to be rented

Opportunities:
Advertising for the market day promotes Damelin
Students become more involved in the social activities of the campus
Excluding the cash prize some of the money can be raised and given to a help a student struggling to pay for his/her studies.

Challenges:
Constant power supply
Tickets to be advertised well in advance
Ensure the stall supply will meet the rental demand
Ensure stalls meets safety standards
Business Case
This event is made compulsory for all students to attend the market day
Two or three students from each class is chosen to represent their class in their category of choice: food, art and entertainment A generator must be rented to supply back-up electricity in the event of power failure
Advertising a month in advance all around the campus and inform the students regularly.
Six lecturers are chosen by the students to be judges.
Project Scope
Initiation phase:
Ensure all required information, documentation and rental requirements are accurate and on order.
Planning phase:
Producing a project plan that is acceptable to SRC.
Implementation phase:
To ensure that the rental equipment is delivered and installed accordingly
Review Phase:
To review the project regularly in order to ensure continuous improvement
