Project 3 Reflection
Throughout my freshman college career, I was able to adapt to a new style of writing. Later on, the style of writing that I had learn had aided me with the transition of my Paper 2 to fit in my public argument in Project 3. Since this was a vital public argument, then it had to be shortened down and be extremely specific to illustrate its key points. By using these methods, I was able to easily format my research in order to produce a debatable argumentative speech for Project 3. Last but not least, the changes that were being made increased the overall effectiveness of my debatable argument, helped present my message stronger, plus it increased my rhetorical use of ethos, pathos, logos in Project 3.

Writing three different types of papers helped me to improve my Rhetorical Knowledge. In my past I have written many research papers, however, I have little experience writing personal narratives or rhetorical analysis papers. This class gave me the opportunity to practice both forms of writing. I feel more confident writing a personal narrative or rhetorical analysis than I previously did. I also understand different rhetorical situations, which is critical in developing a strong paper.…

One of my major weaknesses in writing was forming a concrete argument, for many times I would fall in an ambiguous state, where I am neither for nor against. These rhetorical analyses helped me form a strong opinion against or for certain strategies the author uses. Not only does this developing skill help me in rhetoric, but also in future essays and research papers where I must make concrete claims supported by evidence. For example, in the editorial analysis, I was not afraid to form claims against the lack of support and logic the author of that certain article…

When reflecting over this past semester and my time in Medical surgical three, I have seen a great deal improvement in understanding of different medical care and various conditions. I improved my knowledge through the use of assigned readings, case studies, and other different assignments. When I first began this course I had a very limited knowledge about different medical conditions and how to care for these types of patients. The first day of class I was surprised by the content and the pace it was conveyed, I was very glad that I had brought my recording so that I could catch all the information that was being taught.…

During the semester, we have had many opportunities to interact with people outside of school. Most of them were aimed at our futures, helping me discover the paths I would want to choose in the future. The careers expo was a major event when we had the opportunity to talk to career experts from all different industries from Coles and Woolworths to major university representatives. This helped me explore some career paths that I had not even thought about, the strengths and weaknesses in some careers, learn more about university courses and what each course requires and even suitable part time jobs. One of the conversations that was very useful to me was with a woman that worked at the Flinders’ University. I talked to her about the medicine course. She told me about the different options Flinders’ has to offer to its students. I also got to know that I can do the medicine course in Charles Darwin University and graduate with a Flinders’ degree and also that doing the Flinders’ course in Darwin is quicker time wise. I also got to know that taking the IB will make the medicine course easier for me. Talking, to other university representatives, I also got an idea of other courses that I could consider. I also saw some companies that offered part time jobs. Talking to these people at the careers expo was a very good experience as we all learned new information and I did consider some courses and plans that I did not even know about.…

We had to write from narrative essays, to persuasive essays, to argumentative to reflective essays. This course expanded my knowledge of how to write different kinds of essays because each type of essay has to be written in a certain way with a certain tone. For instance, in my persuasive in class essay Without a Saddle, I had to persuade the audience that youth learn either through experience or promoting cautiousness through restrictions. I thought I was good at writing persuasive essays before but now I learned how to persuade so that the audience can understand my point of view. And after understanding what Professor Anderson is trying to tell me, I revised my paper into a well developed essay. I have noticed that I developed a better and a not so broad thesis, and I have clear transition sentences. That makes the reader understand what is going on and to keep the reader…

Reflection allows an individual to identify the reasons or purpose of understanding the outcome of a particular situation in depth in term of emotions on thought and feeling on the topic area. Therefore, I have implemented this quote in my professional and personal goals I wanted and have achieved thought-out the process of the module. My sentences were reformatted to have an academic tone and organized to develop the ideas I wanted to portray. By the final essay, I was confident in my ability to create an argument and introduce it in a way that provided supportive evidence. Critically examining my essays strongly improved my understanding of aspects of the urban environment and structured my beliefs on concepts presented in the course. The process of writing can become tedious; however, being able to analyze my work created an idea of what I needed the reader to understand. This allowed me to structure my papers in an operative method. Clearly stating my ideas through comprehensible sentences makes my arguments able to be presented successfully. My word choice improved, my tone one was heightened, and ideas I formulated were fully analyzed. I sincerely believe that writing is the most important form of expression because it can be translated and understood by any culture for generations. Taking classes like English 802 are essential in being able to share ideas with the…
