Pro Gay Marriage
My Relationship Towards Gay Marriage Would you deny a person to marry even if they are in love? I wouldn’t and that’s why I fully support gay marriage. I have been exposed to the gay culture since I was a young child and taking vacations to providence town. Even the political landscape is changing due to the increased support of gay marriage. Sadly the main deterrent to gay marriage laws being passed is the Catholic Church and other religious organizations. Religion plays a major role in not wanting same sex couples to marry because in the bible it may or may not say it is or isn’t a sin depending on how you interpret it or. This has caused a very large junction of church and state which doesn’t help the current situation of gay marriage in our country. When I was younger I would take trips to providence town with my aunts. Providence town is a town in Rhode Island with a very large gay community. So even though me and my family didn’t go there for the gay community we found nothing wrong with it or the people in it when we were there. This caused me to grow up with the belief that these people were no different than me and that for the most part they seemed to be pretty happy people. There is a large misconception that the gay community is filled with STDs and unprotected sex and they behave in barbaric ways by how they have sex. This is just not true and it does not make sense. With this being said I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I wasn’t exposed to the gay community. I think it changed me for the better and made me more accepting of people of all creeds. I owe all the thanks in the world for this to my aunt who is gay and is a major part of my life. She helped show me that all people are equal and that judging another person isn’t a good thing to do. I didn’t vote for Mitt Romney for one reason. Mitt Romney did not support gay marriage and this was a turnoff to both me and my family members. I was raised in a family were my aunt is gay and I’m happy

Abortion has fostered one of the most controversial, contentious and ethical debates in the United States. People divide themselves into two groups: pro-life and pro-choice. Pro-life argues that abortion is murder, and the mother has no right to take the life of a potential child. Prochoice “ refers to the political and ethical view that a woman should have complete right over her fertility and that she should have the freedom to decide whether she wants to continue or terminate her pregnancy” (Bose). In 1973, the Supreme Court made it possible for woman to obtain a legal abortion from well-trained medical surgeons which was a giant step forward for women’s rights (Pomeroy). Undertaking an abortion is a woman’s choice and any proposal to take away this autonomy not only violates a woman’s civil rights but would also cause many more problems in regards to a woman’s health. A woman’s autonomy is the one thing no one should be able to take away from her. Abortion is an extremely private matter that the government has no right to interfere in.
