It’s a warm summer night. You and your 4 best friends are having the sleepover of a life time to celebrate the end of 7th grade. Your best friends Alison DiLaurentis, Spencer Hastings, Emily Fields, Hanna Marin, and Aria Montgomery are having a great time until Spencer and Alison get into a fight. Alison storms out into the darkness and doesn’t return. Ever. 1 year later Alison’s body is found and she is finally pronounced dead. About the same time you and your remaining friends start getting notes from a stalker named “A” who seems to know everything about them, including secrets that are so dark, it would bury them alive.
The story above is the plot from Pretty Little Liars. Pretty Little Liars is a haunting series that is extremely addicting. In the series there are 17 books and 2 prequels. I have read and own them all. Each book is filled to the brim with adventure, horror, humor, romance, and of course, secrets. The author is Sara Shepard, who started this series in 2003 and the final book came out only last month. At first the book reviews were very mixed but now the only reviews you could find would be positive. Here is one of the reviews from the first book by the New York Times "This book makes most popular vampire romances look anemic", while concluding, "Pretty Little Liars could go in several directions, including mundane teen clichés. It's got an equally good shot at making us care about these imperfect pretty girls."
If I could change anything about it, I would change the fact that Aria Montgomery broke up with Ezra Fitz in book 6, and that Hanna waited until book 4 to get her bulimia under control, and that Emily was only in a coma for 3 days. Other than that I wouldn’t change anything
