Short Story: The Mazes Of Mirrors

“Tick, tock….” Quinn says. Ben gives Quinn a look, not just any look, a look of desperation. Quinn and Ben have been best friends since 3rd grade. This year, as freshman, they planned to go to the Haunted 4H Fair, for Halloween. As soon as the bell rang, they ran home and got money for the fair. The time was about seven o'clock, when Quinn wanted to go to the “Fun House”. Ben was up for the idea and decided to go with Quinn. A couple minutes in, the two best friends were split apart and on their own. Ben was looking for Quinn, but eventually wandered into the “Mazes of Mirrors”. It was so dark, Ben could barely see his own reflection. Ben could feel someone breathing on his neck. Too many thoughts went through his head, terrifying thoughts. Suddenly he vaguely saw a masked man behind him in all mirrors. Ben turned around scarcely, but saw no one. He continued to find his way around the maze. Ben was then out of the blue taken. No one saw or heard anything for a whole day. Quinn was never heard of or found, either.
Ben woke up, leaning up against a cold, rigid wall, chained up. He could hear trains outside or near him, Ben was in an underground railroad. All he could see were pitch black walls in
The railroad was hidden with many cells. Ben was found in the second cell down from the first. His body had been brutally beaten, but no cuts, just bruises. He was left with a joker’s mask on his face. The detectives noticed that Ben had different clothes on, from that night of the fair. Quinn was never found after that night.
That following year, Quinn was charged with the murder of Ben Jacobson. Quinn was found running the hills of Florida. Not many people in the small town of Janesville, suspected Quinn. He turned out to be the joker that murdered Ben in the cell. Quinn described to the authorities that he purposely got lost in the fun house, to then attack Ben. Quinn did
