Last summer, the new app Pokemon Go took the world by storm. Pokemon Go is an augmented reality game which requires people to go outside and walk around. This has greatly encouraged Pokemon fans to get outside, explore the world, and catch ‘em all. Pokemon Go also encourages players to become more aware of their surroundings, or be a cheater like me and play while my parents are driving. As a result of being outside, people can become more aware of wildlife in their communities. They may discover real animals that serve as models for what Pokemon were based on. A lot of Pokemon show an amazing resemblance to real animals. Heracross is near-equivalent to a Dung Beetle. Dung Beetles have a head, thorax, abdomen, and six. On the head are antennae, eyes, and a mouth. Its legs and wings are attached to the thorax. Dung Beetles are well-known for pushing huge balls of poop. Heracross is a bipedal beetle Pokemon with a blue exoskeleton. It has a long horn on its …show more content…
It has short orange fur with black stripes on its back, and long cream colored fur on its muzzle, chest, belly, and tail. Its face consists of gray eyes, a black nose, and large round ears. Its forepaws have two claws, and its hind paws have three toes. Some of its Pokedex entries mention it loyal to its trainer, and having an incredible sense of smell just like a real dog. A real dog has about 60 square inches worth of turbinates as opposed to a human who only has about 1 square inch. Turbinates are bony plates found in the nose which contain scent-detecting cells. The percentage of a dog’s brain that analyzes cells is 40 times bigger than a human’s. Dogs were the first domesticated animal. They were domesticated to be pets, and hunting companions. Even today, police have dogs for assistance in crime solving, and several people keep dogs as pets.
