Persuasive Essay On Circus Animal Abuse
The Bible says “Do to others as you would have them do to you”(Luke 6:31). Unless circuses intend to get beaten and abused, they have no intentions on training their animals in that way. Prince, an Asian Elephant, was part of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey circus shows. His trainers abused him and his friends in order to make them perform tricks. Fortunately, Prince is no longer a circus animal and now lives happily, but, unfortunately, over 30 of his friends are no longer in the show business because they died due to the brutal circus conditions. Circuses should not have animals in their shows.
Circus animals are abused and beaten. Trainers use bullhooks, electric prods, ropes, whips, deprive animals of food and other inappropriate actions during training. The trainers don’t finish until the animals receive bruises and pain. The animals are left with blood from the savage processes used by the trainers. The animals perform the tricks out of horror because if they don’t, they will get abused the trainers.

Circus performers are people of great courage. They have to make a living out of entertaining people that pay good money to watch them and want to get their money's worth. They have a lot of pressure from that, as well as peer pressure from their fellow performers. Not only do they have pressure from that, they have to worry about the very acts being preformed from playing with swords and fire to hanging from a wire hundreds of feet in the air. If their not focused on what they are doing, they can be killed in a instant.…

"The exhibiting of trained animals I abhor. What an amount of suffering and cruel punishment the poor creatures have to endure in order to give a few moments of pleasure to men devoid of all thought and feeling." - Albert Schweitzer, physician and philosopher."I find circuses deeply offensive. We are just beginning to recognize animals as important in their own right. Circuses throw us back to the Middle Ages." - Desmond Morris, zoologist and animal behaviorist.…

How would you feel if you were captured in a laboratory and forced to smell toxic fumes until death? Or immobilized in a restraining device for hours? Or have your skin burned off and spinal cord crushed? This is the reality for more than 100 million animals worldwide. In Canada, over 3.33 million animals are used in experiments and over 125 000 are subjected to severe pain. The animals are left for days to wait in fear of the next terrifying and traumatic experiment that will be performed on them. Major effects of stress and boredom trigger neurotic behaviors in the animals these include spinning in circles, rocking back and forth, pulling out their own hair and biting their own skin. Days go by, and after being locked in their tiny cages filled with fear, their journey usually ends with death. Animals are said to be used for advances and safety checks in products, but are the tests truly…

Seeing exotic animals behind cages or glass walls at the zoo, watching Shamu do flips for a fish at SeaWorld, and laughing as elephants perform tricks at the circus are all entertaining, but is our entertainment worth the suffering these animals endure behind the scenes? The answer is no. The billions of animals that are subjected to abuse outweigh any claimed benefits that can be made of these businesses. The debate of zoos and parks being ethical or unethical has two main arguments, these being the animal abuse involved and the supposed benefits.…

“Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other ways.” (Peta) The topic I chose to protest for is animal abuse. Not just any animal abuse but circus animal abuse. Animals are fun and to see them do things animals don't really do. The thing you don’t see is how these circus animals are treated just to do the things you do see. These animals go through a lot believe it or not. Animals get parted from their family. They have no free wild time. They spend most of their life in cages and chained up. “ 96% of a circus animal's life is spent in chains or cages.” (Do Something) Circuses all started in the 14th century in Rome. They used animals just to show them off but not to make them do something.…

If one’s family were dying off, due to poor living conditions, and there was a way to rehabilitate them was to keep them in a facility that closely resembles their homes and they were fed and cared for properly cared for, would that be a fair proposition? That is the basic idea of zoos. The zoo is a facility where animals, with descending population numbers, are cared for, rehabilitated, and usually released back into the wild. Wild animals that are taken care of properly, in places such as these zoos, are better off in an enclosure rather than in their wild habitat, for the reasons that the captive facility is always dependable, the animals are safe from hunters and poachers, and they can be bred and released back into the wild to live out the rest of their lives.…

Animal cruelty can be anywhere and done by anyone. Many people think of animals, especially cats and dogs, as disposable. They get a puppy for the children for Christmas only to realize it is a lot of work that the children are not ready for. They forget to feed and water it, don 't take it for walks, and don 't take it outside to use the bathroom. The solution, abandon it or just take it to the humane society. They 'll get another when the kids are older. An animal that is used to being taken care of by humans cannot fend for itself when it is dumped. It slowly starves or gets attacked by other animals. Many people will shoot stray animals with bbs to chase them away from their property. The animal becomes hurt or aggressive…

To test cosmetics, cleaners and other products, hundreds of thousands of animals are poisoned, blinded and killed every year. In circuses, animals are being tortured cruelly. This has been an argumentative issue for a long time. Some argue testing on some animals now will prevent lots of human suffering and save lives in the future. Others say it is unethical and cruel. Still, everyone agrees that millions of animals are subjected to unbearable pain in labs. Also most of people agree with animals tortured cruelly in circuses, they take it as an entertainment for themselves. And that thousands of them die. Before 1986, only four states had felony animal cruelty laws.…

Everybody loves going to the circus. How cool is it to see the ravenous tiger jump through a hoop of fire, the little monkey juggle, or see puppies do all kinds of tricks? People enjoy good entertainment, especially when it comes to animals being involved. Not only can they be used for satisfying the public, but they can also be useful to human resources, such as to the blind, deaf, or disabled. If animals can be used properly in positive ways then why are we abusing and neglecting them? Animals deserve to have the same rights as humans.…

When you go to an animal oriented theme park you automatically think that it is an institution that treats animals as they should be treated. Wrong. When animals are used for entertainment they are taken out of their natural habitat for our viewing pleasures. The Ringling brother’s circus, zoos and SeaWorld are just a few of these entertainment-based institutions. In the circus elephants, tigers, monkeys, and other circus animals are electroshocked, beaten with bull hooks and denied basic vet care. In zoos, animals are kept in cages and taken away from their natural habitat to be put on show for humans to see. When you go to both the circus and to zoos more then likely you are able to go for a ride on a camel or an elephant, all day when these animals are forced to walk around with humans on their backs they are being stabbed and poked on the leg and possibly whipped so that they walk. Why would anyone want to hurt an animal like that just so we can say that we rode a camel or an elephant? SeaWorld and other aquatic parks, orcas and…
