Bullying is not an action we wish to see or experience. Girl-to-girl bullying is not wished upon as well, especially when you are apart of it. Since the beginning of my school education I seemed to become a magnet of bullies. In elementary school, I tried to be helpful towards others. I assisted with homework, cleaned up after activities, and I even did most of the work in group projects because the other kids groaned and complained about it. Unfortunately, due to my acts of being helpful I was called, "dog" by the girls who wore nicer clothes than I did. That nickname stuck around until 4th grade because of the fact I'd listen to anyone who'd ask for help. I was even called, "Heavy" as a supposed nickname for "Heaven" when it has been to call me fat. Around 5th grade,…

However, even though I left my bully behind, I did not leave behind my physical qualities which made me 65% more at risk of being bullied. It started all over again but this time even worse and harsher. I started being depressed and having suicidal thoughts. Yale university states that victims of bullying contemplate suicide 2-9 times more often than non-victims; I was one of those victims. After months of depression, I subliminally had stored up so much hatred towards the bullies, that I just wanted revenge.…

Students that are bullied at home commonly become the school bullies. They take out their rage on smaller or weaker children in order to give themselves power since they are powerless at home. Another reason a student may bully another is self protection. Sometimes a child will participate in belittling another person to prevent the bullies from picking on them; they divert the attention to another and become part of the power rather than be victimized. Most bullies have low - self esteem and feel powerless at their core.…

All over the world, bullying and victimization are common at various levels of schooling from elementary to secondary and beyond. The objective of bullying can range from humiliating to instilling fear in an effort to establish a character of dominance on the part of the bully. It can be in the form of physical violence, verbal abuse, or social isolation and can have lasting consequences on the victim ranging from low self esteem to the most severe: suicide.
