Personal Narrative: The Blue Cut Fire In My County
Two Months ago the Blue Cut Fire took place in my county. During the fire, my grandma, my family, and I was very scared. It was a huge fire that took place in San Bernardino county and 15 freeways. The fire lasted many days on end.
This had to be the biggest fire I’ve ever seen. First, the fire was a tiny brush fire. But after less than 6 hours it had burned many acres of land. The San Bernardino Mountains soon lit up in flames. The burning caused my dad to not be able to come home. The firefighters tried to contain it but they could not. The fire then continued to grow at a fast rate.
The fire gave a frightening look in the sky. Local evacuations were accruing around my county. Many people were being rescued. Thousands were evacuated.

Probably the most shocking thing I learned during all this was that some fires and controlled burns are actually good for not only the woods itself but it is also beneficial to the surrounding ecosystem. The burns prevent the forest from becoming overgrown, and make them unmanageable. Burns also help to get rid of the bottomland species that seem to dominate most forest floors. We were also made aware that the best time to burn is during the lightning season, and that most woodland needed to be burned about once every third year.…

My cousin yelled for me to get my mum from down the road and to get help.
