Personal Narrative: My Experience At The Rape Team
It was currently six o'clock pm on a Sunday night, I was on my way to cheer practice. I have been on the this cheer team since I was four years old. The coach I had was mean, and I hated her. And I didn't like the team I was on. I never felt really safe going to the practices or cheering for the team. So when I got to practice I started stretching, I had to stretch so I wouldn't pull a muscle or break a bone. Then it was time to stunt. I didn’t like stunting because I was the flyer, usually the flyer is the smallest or lightest person on the team but I had to do it anyways. My bases and backspots threw me up in a couple toe touch baskets.
One of the baskets they threw me up in, didn’t go so well. They threw me up and I went forward

The Hunting ground was a great documentary on sexual assaults that go on on college campuses. The Hunting Ground shows us various students who where sexually assaulted at their local college campuses. After watching the movie, I gain a lot of knowledge on what really goes on behind some college campuses and how some college administrators use their authority to keep sexual assaults from the public eye . The Hunting Ground provides us with multiple students who allege that they were sexually assaulted at their local college campuses, and that the college deans ignored them or required them to provide evidence. The film provides us with evidence that many college officials in charge were more concerned with…

For my case analysis I chose a case that was ranked #1 one on the “Top 10 Media Ethics Issues of 2014,” Rolling Stone’s UVA Rape Story. This story caused a lot controversy among the University of Virginia and the local community. I examined and analyzed this story using three ethical theories, the Utilitarianism approach, virtue ethics and the Kantian perspective. Also, I was able to describe the pros and cons using a few competing values such as, truth versus loyalty and individual versus community. Through this process I was able to render a decision of what I believe to be ethical in this particular…

Growing up with a dad who was All-State for Basketball, and a Grandfather who played Division I basketball; I was always expected to be good at ball. I was always decent but never quite lived to expectations. When I turned 12 years old, I was diagnosed with Type 3 scoliosis, which limited not only my quickness but my ability to twist and run normally. The basketball dynasty was coming to an end as I had lost a lot of athleticism. I was always on the middle team, not very good, not very bad, but I always tried new moves; which made me hard to guard. I finally quit all sports because my back couldn’t handle the stress, and I wasn’t prepared to go into surgery. One day as I was watching…

As a police detective, I see a lot of things ordinary men can’t even fathom—serial killers, rapists, drug lords—but nothing could have prepared me for the Dyer Street case. It started out like any other home invasion: a local woman went to bed with her family when all of a sudden she heard a scream coming from her son’s bedroom. When she entered the room she found her son on the floor, unresponsive.…

The issue of sexual assault has been more commonly to happen in many college campuses. Here at CRC there have been multiple incidents of woman sexually assaulted meanwhile heading to class, either in the middle of the day or late night. This causes the student to lose trust in feeling safe at school, and willing to interact with other students outside of class. There are many possible solutions to help prevent and maybe completely stop sexual assault. Sexual assault can be improved by offering rides to your car by the CRC security, more security in parking lots, and more awareness about sexual prevention classes.…

This definition has changed over the time because of a lot of factors. Before there wasn't a clear understanding on how rapes could occur and to whom as well. Sadly, it has changed because all the cases of rape that showed the definition wasn't right. Now, there's a better understanding on it, just as not only women can be the victims and that it's doesn't have to involve force due to that victims can be drugged. What can we do about rape on college campuses? I'm pretty sure that first that comes to everyone's mind is education. I don't know about other schools, but UMass Amherst make students take a mini course about sexual assaults, rape, drinking and another stuff, which I think it's a great idea from them because in some way it helps a lot.…

Ken was my voice teacher. I never admired anyone more than him. He meant the world to me. It would be safe to say that we did not have a typical teacher/student relationship. I was infatuated with him. He was tall dark and had the voice of an angel. But he was eleven years older than I was, and he was my teacher. I learned from him, I confided in him, and I trusted him. I never pictured myself being with him. I never dreamt he would think of me as a 'woman' and not just a love-stricken seventeen year-old vocal student.…

What can teenagers learn from the effects of rape? The victim and the rapist? What had caused the offender to take serious actions? These questions are very serious and in some cases are unanswered questions. Why? Is the first and common question we ask the offender for the actions they have taken? New Zealanders’ react the same way every other nation react to a serious situation if they were to face a person who was assaulted. We should all learn that there is more beneath the mask; meaning no matter what or how a victim shows their emotions there is always more to what they are truly showing.…
