One small and stupid muscle had way too much control over my life - my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). It was a perfect May evening for soccer practice, when I decided to change my dribbling direction and suddenly a huge “POP” sounded from my knee. The next thing I knew, I had dropped to the green grass beneath me. Right away, Coach Nick and my parents knew I had tore my ACL, an extremely serious injury for a soccer player. Once I realized how bad my injury was, I knew I had to accept that this one soccer season was over and I needed to face this injury as an opponent in order to beat it and recover.
Monday, May 15, I was at soccer practice doing a drill when I cut one direction and my knee cut the opposite direction.
