Personal Narrative: Cumberbatch
I am that kid who has a big smile but is indescribably scared. My biggest fear in school is being assigned a detention. My friends have gotten detentions before. The general idea of a detention is major trouble. I don’t like getting into trouble. It makes me feel uncomfortable, and I loathe being yelled at and getting humiliated in the middle of a class.
I am that kid who is passionate about the actor, Benedict Cumberbatch. I know all of the lines of the movies Cumberbatch is in. This summer, I went on a Sherlock Tour in London and experienced the places Cumberbatch was in. I have a life-size poster of Sherlock and a calendar of Cumberbatch in my room. At night I love to watch the early episodes of “Sherlock.” A movie I really don’t care for

I am that kid who gets scared by horror movies easily. For example, Goodnight Mommy and The Butterfly Room, give me the creeps every time I watch the trailers. I am that kid who doesn’t like to watch full horror movies. In the daytime I sometimes watch scary trailers because I want to give myself a good scare. I am that kid who thinks about frightening pictures I’ve seen on the internet at night. I am also that kid who is terrified about bloodcurdling dreams. I am that kid who wants to become famous to the world. I am that kid who hopes to be a movie critic. I feel like that would be satisfying to express my feelings and opinions about recent movies and T.V. shows. I am that kid who wants to be interviewed, and wants to be popular.
I am that kid who has said countless goodbyes in my life. Some of them I don’t remember, but they still have an impact on me today. For example, I said goodbye to the people who took care of me for my first year of life in the orphanage, and to the country where I was born. I am that kid who lost a cousin in Afghanistan when he was twenty-four years old. I am that kid who said goodbye to a grandparent who was ninety-one years old. I am that kid who was very sad to say goodbye to some friends last

The horror genre is meant to bring out the worst in people. Each and every person has dark and evil thoughts that are not often seen during the day. However, the moment they begin watching a horror movie, those evil thoughts take over. It is a “peculiar sort of fun, indeed. The fun comes from seeing others menaced – sometimes killed” (King, 1). These sort of movies appeal to the side of people that is often tucked away. While I am driving down the highway and a person suddenly cuts me off and I have to slam on the breaks, I often think what would happen if I jumped out of my car and slammed…

That is amazing! I can honestly say a fish tank was not of high worry for me when it comes to things being hacked. I, like most people, think of my cellphone, tablet, and computer, of being hacked compared to my appliances (which non of them are smart so I am hopefully safe there). It's amazing how someone in another state or even country can access almost everything I own. A gentleman named Thomas Hatley, was awoken one morning by someone stating, "I can see all of the devices in your home and I think I can control them” (Hill, 2013). This stranger proceeded to prove to Thomas what she could do by turning his lights on and off. This man seemed astounded by the possibilities. It's amazing to me that some individuals still don't understand the…

It was impossible, there was no sword in the rock, nothing. I instantly knew just who had it. Back at the tourney, I decided on confronting the child and the knight that had the blade. But the sword was now just a normal blade exactly like mine. Was I insane? No, I knew what I had seen. I knew there was a ornate golden blade. I scanned the surrounding area searching for a sign of where the golden blade and the knight where. Finally I decided to just go down and run between the tents that held armour and weapons for the soldiers, and then finally the actual tourney. I then noticed the child returning looking prouder than ever. I confronted him trying to look like a stalwart knight. But I´d say I looked more like a coward, so he just ignored…

First of all, I am for replacing detention because many kids will not change their behavior about being out of control And will instead keep doing what they are doing because they are so angry. That is why I’m for replacing detention. “Misbehaving kids are encouraged to sit in the room And go through practices like breathing or meditation, helping them calm down And re-center. Author James Gaines wrote from ¨This School Replaced Detention With Meditation. The Results Are Stunning.¨ First of all, With exercises And having to rethink their thoughts, students would then learn And know that what they were doing was wrong And that instead of having a subsequent punishment, they will do better in school And most likely wouldn't do the wrong thing…

When I was doing homework one Saturday night, my mom gave me the news that my friends have invited me to watch a movie. I said yes, since I was doing homework for a couple of hours. She was fighting with her brother, as I was, and when he passed away, she realized he was a big part of her life. I started crying.…

July 12, 2006 and April 7, 2009, were the two days that had sent me into a emotional state of mind that I will never forget. “We only realize how much someone means to us, when they are no longer with us.” -Ryan Garst. Growing up as a child, I was taught to be a leader and an example for my peers and the people that I’d soon be acquainted with. My parents had already taught me all of the necessary skills about being a leader. An example was to never be a follower, following a crowd of people could lead you down the wrong path in life. The same words were also said by two more people that really set it in stone for me: Mrs. Sanford (babysitter), and Cheryl Denise Burgess (grandmother).…

We had to say our last goodbye to our little house we had lived in our whole lives. When we were leaving, my family and relatives were at the house saying their goodbyes and giving hugs. “Do we really have to leave everyone and move, mom?” I asked. “Your dad and I have agreed that it will be a good move for the family, now stop complaining about it.” she told me. The only thing I wanted to do that day was stay in our old house and cry because I didn’t want to leave my family at all, I was really dreading moving to Florida. When we headed off on the roads I was still upset about the move, but my parents kept telling me it will be okay but that didn’t help me feel any…
