Perseus Movie Comparison Essay
Perseus Story Comparison
There are many similarities and differences between the original Clash of the Titans movie and the book. One similarity is that he slayed medusa, however in the story medusa is sleeping when he killed her and in the movie she is awake. Also, in both the movie and the book Perseus goes to Jappa although in the story Hermes helped him and in the movie a man named Amon helped him. In the book Cassiopeia compares Andromeda to the Nereids, but in the movie she is compared to Thetus. Both the book and the movie have a kraken come to get Andromeda who is tied to a rock. The book and movie both have Perseus saving Andromeda but in the movie he has to solve a riddle and in the book he does not. Last, Perseus in the book has to go get information from the daughters of Atlas and in the movie he does not.
The book and the re-made movie are drastically different, but have some similarities. One difference is that in the book Danae survives and in the remake she is dead, in both it is King Acrisius that tries to kill them. Secondly, he has a pegasus in both movies, though in the remake it is black instead of white and much larger. In both movies he rescues Andromeda from the kraken, but in the original he marries her and in the remake he does not. Since the two are very different, I will tell you 3 differences and similarities that I noticed. One difference was Mr. Shuan, an important character, wasn’t even in the movie! He had killed Ransom and that helped Davie escape. Another difference is that Ransom didn’t die in the movie, or at least not the original way. We saw him on the boat before it blew up in the movie, in the book he died in the hull. My last difference is that The Long Mile Gang didn’t exist in the book. Some evidence that proves the flick wasn’t crazy wrong were (1) Alan did wear a blue coat…

One of the things that are different are that it talks about Bernard building his gang in battle school. Another example is that it introduces Bean when dragon army was rebooted in the book, but in the movie, Bean was introduced in the beginning. The final example is that in the movie, Ender found the queen after the battle near the base, in the book Ender finds the queen at the bugger planet that they were colonizing after a few years. This is how the book and the movie is very different from each other.…

Just like there are differences there are also similarities that the book and movie do share. A similarity they both share in common is that Luke, son of Hermes, is the lightning thief. Another thing is that the Minotaur kidnaps Percy’s mother for Hades. Later they go to the Underworld. Not all books and movies are completely different, but in fact can have many similarities.…

There are many differences and summaries between the book and the movie the coronals of Narnia the lion, witch and wardrobe. For example; “In the movie, they crossed that river (jumping over ice bergs, Megrim confronting them on the river, etc), while I'm pretty sure that in the book they didn't cross it, but walked along it or something... can't fully recall. Also, I'm pretty sure in the book they were only confronted by Megrims once after Edmund betrayed them (when Peter fought him), but in the movie there was also the aforementioned confrontation on the river.…

In most cases when there are two versions of something we can find differences and similarities, such as when a book is made into a movie. An example of this is the book To Kill A Mockingbird which was made into a movie, these two versions are very different but portray the same story. The movie does a good job in presenting the main points of the book but overall the film and the novel are dissimilar more than they are alike. The three main differences are the alterations of major scenes, the absence of characters and the lack of details illustrated in the book.…

Also, in the movie there is a scene where Antigone and the guard take an elevator and a car to get to a cave where she will be trapped in for burying Polynices. Since this book was written in about 442 B.C, Sophocles would not even know what and elevator or a car was let alone put the both in his book. Back in his day they would have walked to wherever they were going and definitely not to an elevator. Little details like that are what make the book and movie so different. Like the way they talk, dress, and the things that they have in their house is definitely more updated than what Sophocles had in mind.…

The movie leaves out a few important characters that were told in Perseus’s original myth. Originally, Perseus set out on his quest for Medusa’s head in order to save his mother Danae from King Polydectes. In the movie however, they replace the importance of his mother with his lover Io, who he must save from the sea monster, the Kraken. Film makers know the importance of a love story in today’s movies, which is probably why they make this change. Also, the movie is given an obvious villain, which is where Hades is brought into it. With him being the easily identifiable evil character, that leaves no room for confusion. Perseus’s character is only given minor changes from the original myth to the movie, still portraying him as a brave and compassionate…

There may have been a lot of differences but there were some similarities that were found. In both of the tales Hercules falls in love with a girl named Meg (or Megara), although in the original, Hercules kills her. Another small similarity was that whomever they were sent by, Hercules still killed two snakes when he was a baby. Of course the most obvious similarity is that in both stories, Zeus is his father. There were many more differences than similarities but in…
