One of the greatest leadership roles I have taken on has been at my school, which was deciding to become a peer mentor. The focus of this role was to help underclassmen by influencing them to further their education. Attending the training for this program opened my eyes to the endless opportunities that they had just by doing well in school. I knew that by becoming a mentor I would develop important dexterities such as being accountable for someone who needs guidance. The excitement in being peer mentor was impacting young minds with positivity about their futures.     I am a great leader and throughout my high school career I have taken every opportunity I could to display this. For three out of my four years I have participated as a Muskoka Woods Leader. This required me to spend a week at a summer camp at which I would lead a group of grade 7s through a series of fun activities. Being a leader at this camp wasn't always fun and games though.     But, I’m only going to go into detail on one. I was an emerging leader, and it was a class that you apply to take when you’re going into your sophomore year, and was aimed at bringing together a diverse array of leaders from all types of organizations on campus. The class was directed by my school’s head of the Center for Leadership & Service department and she certainly is great at her job. Every class was different and unique. Some were aimed at a different way to look at the world, those around you, the way others think, the way others are treated in society, and a wide array of popular leadership theories and insights into how to inspire others and yourself. I still remember what my class came up as our definition of what leadership is to us and it still applies to me today.
