Patriots Should Declare Independence From Great Britain

The sheepdog is there waiting, watching, keeping to the shadows, but when he needs to he will step out of the shadow and protect the sheep. But what happens when the sheepdog doesn’t do his job? What happens when the sheepdog becomes a real threat to the sheep? What happens when Great Britain becomes a real threat to their sheep? The British are becoming a threat to the thirteen colonies and they have to fight against it. The colonists have been under the rule of Great Britain since the 1700s. But now the rule has started to collapse between the colonies now that they had been divided into three; Loyalists, Patriots and neutrals, who had different beliefes about the government. Some believe the Patriots should declare independence; however, they should not because they are not being taxed fairly and Great Britain is doing a poor job protecting them.
In Social Studies Alive Chapter 10 it says that the fifth of March, 1770 a troop of redcoats fired at an unarmed group of colonists, killing five. This emphasizes that Great Britain is lacking in protecting the colonies. Moreover, they are even killing the colonists although they should be protecting the colonies after all they have done.
