Why Did Great Britain Want To Become A Colonist?
The colonist weren’t quick to choose whether or not to leave Great Britain or to stay loyal to the king. Many of the colonist wanted to independent because they couldn’t handle the type of government. Given the reason why they came to the New World. Since the British was taxing them and limiting their power they wanted to be separated from Great Britain. The people who wanted to be separated were called Patriots. Other people thought it would be dangerous to be separated from the British due to the cultural and family ties they had in Britain. Loyalists, colonists against the revolution, faced many hardships at the hands of their peers because of their beliefs.
