Patient Care Technician

UAP-unlicensed assistive personnel- PCT- Patient Care Technician. To become a PCT the individual need to obtain an accredited certificate such as CPR certificate, phlebotomy, or CNA certification- Certified nurse’s aide- in which can be obtained at technical schools or community colleges. A CNA can perform some of the same tasks as a PCT; however, a PCT can do more advanced procedures such as blood draws, ECGs, and catheterizations.
