A Medical Assistant (MA) is an integral member of the health care delivery team, qualified by education and experience to work in the administrative office, the examining room and the physician office laboratory. The Medical Assistant, also a liaison between the doctor and the patient, is of vital importance to the success of the medical practice. MAs make a conscious decision to hold themselves to a higher standard of performance and a more demanding code of conduct than others out in the medical field. They understand that trust is the foundation for all relationships and that the three main cornerstones of trust are honesty, truthfulness, and trustworthiness. MAs are responsible for their actions and their work. They understand their roles and responsibilities that they’re accountable for.
