1. Define what is meant by Organizational Behavior. Considering your discipline/industry (HCA, MBA, HR, Safety) discuss specific contextual aspects that illustrate the need for a contingency approach in managing individuals in your workplace or environment. Is the structure of the organizational a help or hindrance for what you need to accomplish.
First, Organizational behavior is a field of study, it is the study of the system within the organization, the impact of individuals, groups and structural behavior of people in the organization to improve organizational performance for the purpose of science. OB is the study of what people do in an organization and how their behavior affects the organization’s performance. Organizational behavior can make the following statement: Organizational Behavior is a field of study, a comprehensive, application of subject characteristics. OB investigates the scope of the organizational system, and it focuses on organizational behavior characteristics and regularity. The purpose of investigates organizational behavior is to improve the effectiveness of the organization, the argument that organizational behavior can be understood as individual behavior, group behavior, organizational behavior. I majored in HRM, for a human resources management, different people has different characteristics, so when I allocating task, I need to consider the contingency variables. Because for example, not everyone wants a challenging job. Some people prefer routine over varied, or simple over complex. A job attractive to one person may not be to another; its appeal is contingent on the person who holds it. OB scholars would avoid stating that everyone likes complex and challenging work. I think if the organizational structure is more diversity and more mature, it will help for what I need to accomplish. Workforce diversity acknowledges a workforce of women and men, many racial and ethnic groups, individuals
