Abortion – A controversial Issue Abortion is one of the most controversial issues in our society. An abortion is when the pregnancy is ended so that it does not result in the birth of a child. Sometimes this is called ‘termination of pregnancy’. The pregnancy is removed from the womb, either by taking pills which is called medical abortion and involves taking medicines to cause a miscarriage, or by surgery which is referred to as surgical abortion. Abortion is a procedure that is practiced by society both legally and illegally. Either way, the act of abortion leaves behind irreversible severe consequences.
