The nonsuicidal self-injury in young adults based on certain borderline personality disorders can be treated accordingly. If there is no evidence of such mental disorder diagnosed in those patients have no choice of any significant treatment. if untreated or absence of intervention leads to increased harm to the individuals and extent of damage from medical severity to disfiguration of physical elements can occur (Andover, Schatten, Morris, & Miller, 2015, p.491)
Health Care providers have the responsibilities to assess the patient for any underlying psychopathology, and do not underestimate the lethal behavior.
