Nigel Marsh: How to make work-life balance work
Marsh sketched out a beautiful picture: built on a perfect day with his family, personal development and the working balance between the three above; thus he encourages people to make this vision a reality.
And I have four observations I'd like to share with you today.
My whole take away from this is if you want to achieve work-life balance you need to:
1) 1. Be honest But the trouble is so many people talk so much rubbish about work-life balance., face reality is acknowledging the reality of the situation you're in. (If you feel that your life is unbalanced, admit it to yourself, ask yourself why, don't give excuses, because otherwise you'll never come up with a possible solution.)

And the reality of the society that we're in is there are thousands and thousands of people out there leading lives of quiet, screaming desperation, where they work long, hard hours at jobs they hate to enable them to buy things they don't need to impress people they don't like.

In this case, how we may feel about balance. We should recognize the imbalance causes, go to solve, so that narrow two imbalances, let us live happy.

2)It's up to us as individuals to take control and responsibility for the type of lives that we want to lead. If you don't design your life, someone else will design it for you, and you may just not like their idea of balance.
First, never let commercial companies in charge of the quality of your life, these companies will definitely make you squeeze more value, which is their essence.
Two, do not plan to give it the right to ask people you would never like someone else to set the balance. We must be responsible for their own lives to design and strengthen the various boundaries. Rational planning each day to each time period.

3)The third observation is we have to be careful with the time frame that we choose upon which to judge our balance.

2. Don't procrastinate. (Again, don't give excuses like I know my life is unbalanced right now, but I

A human being’s life is a complex web of interactions between three significant domains - the self, the family, and work. Balance is ideal, however, instances of chaos between the domains from time to time come about. When the latter happens, all aspects of an individual’s life as well as those around him get affected.…

People everywhere are faced with the unanswered question, “When am I working too much?”, “When do I stop?” Due to the constant increase in our cost of living, people believe they are forced into working longer and more demanding hours. People need to learn how to split their time and energy between work and the other important aspects of their lives. In the two essays, “Hit the Brakes”, by Christopher Dewolf and “Stupid Jobs”, by Hal Neidzviecki, it is shown that spending too many hours on your job, creates less time for a personal life, which creates many problems. Society has become obsessed with the demanding and vastly expanding workplace environment, so much so that quality time spent with self and loved ones, which is crucial to becoming a well rounded person, is often disregarded.…

This is a synthesis of the information from this week’s ASU Online Orientation, including responses to exercises completed throughout the week (i.e. discussion posts, blogs, and assessments). The following is a plan of action for ensuring adequate balance between work, school and life in an effort to achieve success at ASU. To begin, balancing work is the least challenging aspect of this plan for this student. To clarify, I’m not beholden to an employer, rather, I own my business therefore I’m in control of my work schedule and have the autonomy to adjust as needed in order to meet goals in all three areas. The goals for success in my work life are to continue meeting or exceeding the expectations of my client while generating an income…

Within an individual’s life, generally speaking, there is so much balancing needed. Let us touch base on finding the importance of personal balance. This day and age, people are finding comfort in relieving stress through extracurricular activities, hobbies, and personal relationships. From experience, I have relied on such aspects of my personal life to keep my mind relaxed and fresh. However, one must remember to prioritize commitments to personal endeavors vs. personal responsibility. Learning to balance ‘fun’ and ‘work’ to maintain coherence in one’s life directly results from prioritizing. Putting schoolwork first, before going to the beach or attending a party is prioritizing and supporting personal responsibility. Realistically, learning to balance one’s personal life will always support any endeavor. The catch phrase trending is appropriately relevant; Work Hard, Play Hard.…

“Qualitative research is a form of inquiry that analyses information conveyed through language and behaviours in natural settings”.(Lincoln YS 1985) “It is used to capture expressive information which is not conveyed in quantitative data such as beliefs, values, feelings, and motivations that underlie behaviours of people” (Crabtree BF, Miller WL, 1992) Some qualitative approaches include the use of mathematical methods (such as statistics) to determine the significance of findings, while other researchers conduct structured and semi- structured interviews as well as hand out questionnaires, other researchers may also go on to rely on their own thoughtful reflection with the sole aim gathering information about a particular topic and making as much objective in-depth analysis as possible as well as conducting ethnographic studies. Qualitative research has received a lot of praise in the business world mainly because it has helped managers and owners of both large and small companies identify and understand the problems that exist within their company and even sometimes goes a step further to provide possible solutions to these problems, making these companies profitable in long-run.…

    A. Taking charge of yourself, If you just wake up everyday with confidence and good thoughts, I believe that you will have a good day. If you wake up thinking negatively, and down, odds are that’s how your day is going to end up. Taking charge can help you in all aspects of your life especially school, which leads me to the next erroneous zone, the big one, procrastination. I believe so many people in school struggle with procrastination, especially me. This all stems from your thoughts as well. You don’t want to do it so you wait till the last minute and end up not putting as much effort and time into it. If procrastination didn’t exist I believe many kids in school would have better grades, and less dropping out. I struggle with this on…

Creating balance in your life involves taking responsibility for making appropriate choices for yourself and your life. “Personal growth requires a change in self-image. Self-image has a great deal to do with our development towards realizing our own potential. The important fact behind your development is that you want to take the risk of developing” (Johnson, Geal). When you are at that mentality stage you can accept responsibility and delegate your responsibilities in the correct manner.…
