Nature vs Nurture Argument

Are you the same person as when you were four? I am going to tell you what nature vs nurture is in my following statement. In nature you believe that your personality was formed by genetics and not by parenting. Nurture believes that parenting formed who you are not your genetics. My third paragraph is about twins and how they are alike by nature. My fourth paragraph is about your personality and how it forms and works. My fifth paragraph is about the studies on diseases and how they harm you, and the way you live. I believe in most cases that nature forms your personality.

It is true that some twins have many differences, but they have also not paid attention to their similarities. The fact is that I am still the same as I was in childhood, but much of who I am has changed. Everyone knows that when you grow up with your parents and get rewards it can change some things, but you can't change your DNA. Also people like to think that there mothers nurture formed them, but without your genes you couldn't act talk and walk like you do. It is true that your parents change some of your personality, but your DNA forms who you are. Without nurture you could act and stay the same. Studies show that monkeys have cuddled with a pillow, but it's in our genes a

When born with a case of autism you will never grow out of it it changes your life and you can't get rid of it. Nurture does not get rid of these illnesses, but nature decides if you have it or you don't. It's all in the DNA because when growing up your DNA forms you in every way possible. People have many things that can be studied. Studies show that when born you like to think to yourself. Because, as simple as it is you can't talk when your 3 months old. So nature gives you your personality. Studies also show that nature creates your knowledge. It controls how you learn and how you learn it, and how it processes through your

Nature vs Nurture are studies that have been going on for years within the scientific community to explain multiple issues. Some studies will suggest that nature makes us who who are, meaning genetic factors are the major contributor of being who we are. These include what personality traits, intelligence, and emotional characteristics we will inherit from our parents. Thus, these studies ultimately state we are genetically predisposed in deciding who we become. On the other side of the debate is the nurture studies, meaning environmental factors are the major contributors to shaping us into who we are or become. This include your upbringing, your lifestyle, home environment and the way someone was interacted with, taught or treated as a young child.…

Whether nature or nurture has more of an influence over individual development is debatable and has been a common argument in the field of psychology for a long time. Nature refers to inherited traits and genes given to us at birth which we have no control over, and nurture refers to family, friends or society. The exchange between nature and nurture is dynamic and complex and both nature and nurture cause dynamic and continuous influence on development. The relationship between nature and nurture cannot be explained definitively and it is hard to determine which one influences human development more.…

M1) Historically, some philosophers and theorists have argued that we are born to be the way we are. However, other theorists have argued that it is the way we are brought up and influenced by our surroundings that make us who we are. This argument is known as the nature v nurture debate and has been going on for many years as to this day, it is still not resolved. Nurture refers to the social, economic and environmental influences while nature refers to the genetic and biological influences. The way we look can be argued to be mainly due to nature as the genes we inherit from our parents provide a basis of how we look. An example of this could be when people say, “Don't you look like your mum/dad!”. Genetic inheritance can determine our eye colour, natural hair colour, whether we have straight or curly hair and how tall we are. Also, we can inherit certain diseases that can have a serious impact on our health. However, as we get older, we can make our own decisions on how we look and change our appearance. In today's society, it is proven to be popular that people change their hair colour, get tattoos and piercings. Also, there are many cosmetic procedures available to change our appearance. For example, eating junk food and not exercising regularly can lead to obesity. The environment we are brought up in and the experiences we have influence our health which contributes to our physical development. An example of how nature-nurture affect our physical development is; we may carry genes that increase our risk of developing type 2 diabetes, but if we eat a healthy diet and get sufficient exercise, we may not develop the disease. Also, the genes we inherit can affect our health. For example, a daughter is more likely to have breast cancer if her mother has had it. However, our life choices and the environment we live in can increase our chances.…

Are behaviors inbred, written permanently in our genes as absolute biological imperatives, or is the environment more important in shaping our thoughts and actions? Such questions cycle through society repeatedly, forming the infamous "nature vs. nurture controversy." It is very apparent that nature is responsible for numerous physical behaviors, including homosexuality, aggression, impulsivity, and nurturing. The theory that nature is accountable for behavior is demonstrated through the reproduction of certain behaviors in successive generations of organisms. Consider the instinctive retrieval behavior of a yellow Labrador or the herding posture of a border collie. Behaviors change in response to alterations in biological structures or processes. In addition, a brain injury can turn a polite, knowledgeable adult…

Nurture has a larger effect on us than does nature. Nurture is the characteristic builder that we gain as we grow up. It is what defines our nature and makes us who we are. Nurture cultivates our nature, and it is the main regulator of our being. How did we get our physical appearance our physical set-up? We got our blue eyes from mother, and our jowl from father. How about our behaviors or skills? Where did we get thrill-seek personality and talent for singing? Did we learn these from our parents or was it determined by our genes? After getting a little glimpse about psychology, we should now get to know what nature and nurture is. (Ateel, 2006) Explain three possible ways of how different category of people may analyze the personality in us. These include those who believe personality is natural, personality is nurtured, and personality is spiritual. With the nature aspect group, they believe that your personality is as a result of evolutionary process. You inherit behaviors due to complex interaction of genes. They control your behaviors. So you don’t have a free will to act otherwise. The nurture group argues that you don’t get your personality inherited. Your mind is a blank slate at your birth. It is…

The nature/nurture debate is a debate that I did not learn much about until I was in college. Before college, I was mostly taught that it is either nature or nurture. The main points of the nature/nurture debate was discussed in class. There are people that think the nature/nurture debate as one or the other. Nativists are people who believe in nature. They believe everything that a human is made up of is determined by genes only; genetic determinism. There are people who believe that everything is owed to nurture. Environmentalists look at experiences and learned behaviors. There is also people who think both nature and nurture effect the outcome of humans. Interactionists often use a model called G x E., which is when something from the environment…
