We see animals every day. They are our pets, companions, and, to some, family. They are also our dinner, new jacket or bag, and the pain behind our household products. So when does it qualify as cruel, or even inhumane? What is animal cruelty? According to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) “Intentional cruelty, or abuse, is knowingly depriving an animal of food, water, socialization, or veterinary care. Maliciously torturing, maiming, or killing an animal.” Three major examples of animal cruelty today are found in the food industry, shelters, and testing facilities.…

The most effective way for CDR to distinguish itself from other resorts and gain a competitive edge is to partner with Rascals in Paradise and become a specialized family diving resort. It is recommended that CDR use the all inclusive package approach to selling its vacations and split accommodations evenly between Independent Family Packages and Special Family Packages and provide all meal, bar service, and babysitting services at a breakeven price with meal and bar responsibilities outsourced to the local restaurant and the babysitters hired by CDR from the local community. This option is successful in turning the highest positive net income within the first full year of implementation (See year 2009 in Exhibit 4) and results in the highest growth in revenues and profits in the long term when compared to other alternatives. This is achieved because specializing and being a first-mover into the growing family diving segment of the industry generate the highest competitive advantage.…

    * #5 Adrenaline Rush: As a law enforcement officer you’ll probably saves someone’s life every day you come to work. An officer may have to make a life or death discussion in a split second. They could also save someone from potential harm when they issue traffic tickets or responding to domestic violence calls. This would be an extreme rush for me since officers are in a high risk job at all times. I understand the risk and wiliness to put myself out there for others and having only a spilt second to react. This is very similar to my position as quarterback on the football field, which I have enjoyed since I younger, and have handled it well. In this position you are a leader and a role model for community. Which I believe will transition over to me becoming an officer.…

My decision to enter a Community College and to attend classes for the first time can be difficult or easy depending to my motivation. I opt to attend this community college of Denver. My choice is based on four aspects: advantages, location, cost and quality of education. I think the community college of Denver’s location is in a good place for me that will help me to go to school. I love to see all the interesting things around the campus, the campus is big with two others campus: Metro state university and Denver university, exciting and full of life. I often visit the Tivoli, the gym; I also visit the learning center. The advantage; I will meet different people, languages, and cultures. Even though my classes was dropped, I was assisting or attending classes because I knew or believed I will make it, the things I found in my classes, I got the good teachers, they are patient, they never rush us ( students ). The teachers explain everything I ask and make me understand better. In addition, I saw them being organized, they planned what happens in every class. They also encourage and help me and others students to understand the courses. Almost every class I have homework, some quizzes online to exercise myself to perform better. All my three teachers have each special qualities that I appreciate, they give me strength and love for my classes that why I never miss my classes, I think I will get my goal. I like all my three teachers. Let me talk a little about the reading, writing centers, I find people really servable, helpful, comfort, when I get there I have to write my name first on the list, I always be welcome there when my turn come I see somebody introduce me to a Tutor, a Tutor will greet me gently and give me a seat and he or she will ask me what concern I have then I can explain all my concerns, I really see myself being help. I appreciate them and I encourage them…

When I was a kid, I was living in West Roxbury small town near Boston, Massachusetts. I had many events happen in life, some good and some not so good but in the end it was a learning experience and part of my history. At the age of 7, I was sent to another country to live with my grandmother in South America. I had to leave my family due to medical reasons that my mother was going through. Many things were hard, but taking that experience has made me realize that good things can come out of what was then a bad experience in the beginning. Trying to adapt to a new school, new friends, new environment, new family in the sense that I didn’t have my parents with me, wasn’t what I was used to but what did I know about that I was only 7 years old although if my memory serves me well, it was somewhat hard but not impossible to adapt to. Change is not an easy thing to adapt to especially if life has been a routine; it’s a cycle of experiences that with every step we go in life.…

Sometimes being different is not a bad thing. From a very young age I was labeled “different” I started reading before the start of kindergarten, I would rather read then play outside and I actually liked homework. I did not mind being “different”. I never thought being smart would be such a bad thing. In school I always tested high I was above average they said, so in fifth grade they placed me in T.A.G., the Talented and Gifted program. What should have been such a great thing in my life turned out to be a bad experience, just because I did not want to be different for the first time in my life.…

The essay "Me Talk Pretty One Day" by David Sedaris tells about an educational experience of the author. He moves from New York city to France to learn French at the age of forty-one. Unfortunately, he is in a hostile situation which was being in a high pressure class with an intimidating and cruel teacher. Even though he spends time in Normandy, he is not able to fully understand what is being said by the teacher. He is quite nervous and upset because he has a prior background of French but that is not credible in the classroom. While in class, the teacher asks everyone to present a couple of their personal information. For the reason that the students are still new to the language, their vocabulary are narrow and not sophisticated. Thus, the teacher is very mean to those students who are trying to learn French, especially Sedaris. It continues for months. However, that becomes a motivation in his mind and he decides to take to next step to speak fluently in French. He puts really hard efforts in studying and doing homework to have a better understanding in the language. Eventually, he actually understands exactly what the teacher is saying and wants her to talks more.…

Luxury travellers are usually older or middle-aged consumers who are already financially prosperous and look for relaxation and rejuvenation from their stressful positions. They can also be retirees. Luxury travellers will be willing to pay more for value, quality and service, and they look for quality relaxation and experience when looking for a place to reside while travelling. Luxury travellers will respond well to Banyan Holding’s Banyan and Laguna resorts and hotel line. Banyan tree hotels and resorts seek to have guests “pampered with a warm and friendly retreat experience” and are targeted to those “who place a premium on exclusive and unique localtes, with a penchant for the indulgent, luxurious and exotic” (Marketing in Asia 2nd Ed, p714-715). These high-end customers desire personalized service, ambience, and design, and a self-contained, personal retreat with private and tasteful amenities (Marketing in Asia 2nd Ed, p715). Luxury travellers who go on trips with their family members will prefer Laguna resorts and hotels as it provides a wide range of amenities for children to elderly, like the children’s suite, Laguna shopping centre and Angsana Spas. The Laguna hotels offers a wider range of services for a broader base of targeted audience, hence appealing to luxury travellers who travel with their family.…
