My Personality
My Personality and Correspondence with Co-Workers

My mother raised me by the “Golden Rule,” “Do onto others as you would like others to do onto you.” I live by this. I believe if you respect people you will be respected in return. I am always aware of my surroundings because it is important to pay attention and acknowledge the presence of others. I always have a smile on my face even if I am not in the best of moods. If another person is having a not so good day and you greet them with a smile and show them kindness, you never know how you may have impacted their day. I have a great compassion for other people. I inherited this from my family. I find myself going out of my way to ensure that other people have what they need. If feels good to give a helping hand when it is possible for me to do so. The simplest things as making sure not to park in a handicap parking spaces are of value to me. I can just imagine the not so mobile senior trying to get from their car if they had to park further away due to my lack of awareness. I love children. I have 5 beautiful girls from ages 12 on down to 5 months. I never thought I would be so blessed to have such a wonderful family. The love I have for God, people and family makes a big impact on my personality. I view other children as if they were part of my family because I want other people to be protective of my girls when they are not in my presence. I depend on others to take care of my children when I am at work and school so it is important to be dependable to other people as well. I am a dedicated employee. I always do what is asked of me if it is morally correct and possible. I follow direction well and love to be heard when I have a good idea. I am a team player. I love to work with other people and share ideas. You never know when someone may have a better one than you do. The best way to learn is by the example of other people. This being a reason why I choose to set a good

I personally can relate to all three normative approaches but one that I consistently live by and teach my children by is to “do unto others as you want them to do unto you”. This falls into the deontology ethics category, a moral law that really makes a difference. I treat people the way that I want to be treated and it really comes back to you. My grandparents instilled this value in me long ago and I have since passed it on to my own…

Do on to others, as you would want them to do to you. I think this basic principle or saying is very powerful. If everybody abided by it the world would not have as many problems as it does now. For example people wouldn’t steal because they wouldn’t want their possessions to be stolen or robbed. People wouldn’t kill each other because they wouldn’t want to be killed themselves. This is a saying my parents always drilled into my head ever since I was a few years old and it stuck with me all these years. I try to respect everybody because I like to be respected back. This is the second trait I would like others to remember me…

Growing up, my parents pushed me to be the best I could be. They let me make mistakes and used them as teachable moments. They taught me the importance of work ethic, reliability, and trustworthiness. Being reliable and trustworthy is important in both personal and work relationships. They also taught me to be kind. I strive to be kind to everyone, and treat them with respect. I try look at situations from someone else's point of view. We never know what is going on in someone else's life, so I feel it is better to treat them with kindness and respect versus being rude or disrespectful. If someone is having a bad day, I don't want to make it any worse. As I got older, I came to the quick realization that not everyone's views are the same. My parents taught me to accept people for who they are and not to hold it against them when they have do not have the same views as I do. One thing we all have in common is that we are human. We should treat each other with the respect and dignity that we would like to be treated with.…

“Golden Rule: do unto others as you would have done unto you” (Osheroff, 2009). Many people live their lives by the Golden Rule, citing it as the foundation for their ethical and moral behavior. I truly believe we should conduct our lives by how we want to be treated. Why do we expect everyone around us to treat us fairly, but we not do the same in return? Our values and ethics stem from the environment we live in, and it is constantly changed by the individuals we encounter and our surroundings.…

    What Respect Means to You

However, as soon as I got into college, I realized that respect is also something that I have to earn from others, which means that I not only have to get involved into them, but also have to be trustworthy to them, and that is how a friendship is established. Gradually, I find that people's feelings are all tied with their honor, self worth, status and ideas. If we want someone to treat us a certain way, we have to treat them the same way. As my mom says "treat others the way you want to be treated", I keep those words in the deepest part of my heart and remind myself to have good manners all the time to everyone that I meet in my life. For example, I show my respect to my elders by always offering help by any means possible, always saying ‘please’, ‘thank you’ whenever it is needed.…

Example 1: A good starting point is to respect others because God said to. For example, we read in the Bible that husbands and wives are to respect their spouse and the wife must respect her husband Ephesians 5:33. Husbands, in the same way are considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect 1 Peter 3:7. The same principle applies to other relationships. Peter wrote that we should show respect to everyone. You can respect your spouse, child, parent, boss or others because of their position. Acknowledge that others have weaknesses. Everyone is imperfect. Be careful not to let their failures erode your respect for their good qualities. Look for things that you can respect. You can find something to respect in anybody if you look hard enough. Respect others as children of God. I work in a retirement community and everyday I interact with residents, families, doctors and nurse’s and my bosses the administrator and executive director and co-workers. I find that by showing respect to every person I come in contact with not only serves God’s plan for me, but my plan for my…

Throughout our lives, we are all taught the importance of good behavior and how being kind to others is a necessity to build strong relationships. Many times these basic rules of how to behave and act towards people are taught to us at such a young age that the significance of the proper way to conduct ourselves is basically brushed off as we grown older. I believe, however, that everyone should remember that simple phrase that we have all heard in school, church, or from our parents: “Do unto others as you would want them do unto you,” which is also called the Golden Rule.…

Caring for my fellow human has proven over time to be my most important character attribute. This trait is over looked in this modern age by many people, but there are those who still care for the well-being of people. Since I turned fourteen to this very day I have practiced this trait by working with people that are in need of help at clothing closets and food banks. To see how these people have been put down over time makes me ever more gracious to have this trait. This mannerism can also be practiced through everyday habit by helping those who need help with simple things from opening a door to giving away money and clothes to even giving food. While this is common place where I am from, Dallas, TX, there are people…
