my most memorable day
My Most Memorable Day
There are lots of memorable days in my journey on earth but there is one that stands above all others. It comes up to my mind every now and then ‘First day of school’. It all happened long ago but I remember it as if it just happened yesterday.

It was 24th February 2006,morning 6:00 am when my alarm started ringing loudly. I jumped up excitedly not being able to stand. It was my first day at Da Vinci International School! I was going into KG1 (FS1 as they call it in Dubai). As soon as I knew it me, my mom and dad were on our way to the school. I was dressed in my newly bought clothes; everything I had there that moment was new. The drive was only 15minutes long but it seemed to be gone in a blink’s time. The next minute I was there standing in front of the schools wooden gates with lots of other people, who had shared the same experience as me, rushing in full of pleasure. As soon as everybody had gone in we made our way to the principal’s office where I than sat down and waited. Eventually the principal,’Mike’ came in and had a seat. He first welcomed us to the school and asked me some questions including: my name, nationality, age, birth date etc.
Then it all came down to the point when he said that she will now be taken down to her class that made me more nervous…

When we were walking to the classroom Mike asked me if I liked the school so far and I said yes even though I didn’t really know much about it yet.
I reached the classroom and I went inside. The principal introduced me to the teacher. She sounded very sweet and nice and I made up my mind that I was going to have a wonderful time in her class. Her name was Miss.Hannah. Miss.Hannah told the class that I was new to the school and I was going to need to make some friends. So she decided to choose one particular person to help me around in lessons and break times. For the first few days I was lost in the school but I had made lots of new friends, which was nice. After

I dreaded the alarm that woke me up at 6:30 in the morning. It was as loud as a screaming toddler that could be heard for miles. I groggily got out of bed and got ready for my first day of school. It was a weird feeling not putting on a uniform like I had been for the past nine years, but I also enjoyed that freedom. The nervousness became more and more intense as I could closer and closer to campus. When we arrived, I got out of the car, and watched my dad drive off to go take my younger sister to school. There was no going back now; I had no other choice than to walk through those doors. I felt like my throat was in my stomach. I noticed some familiar faces, and I walked towards them. While I was approaching my friends, a senior, facing toward me, walked passed. He must have been at least six feet tall, which was incredibly intimidating for me at just over five feet. I was not used to the fact that I’d potentially have classes with these giants. Additionally, the array of new teachers, and having to learn all of their teaching styles and things they did or did not tolerate was hard in…

The main reason why I was so nervous is because the school I was coming from was very small and private. I went to Our Lady of Grace from kindergarten to eighth grade. The student body there was around two hundred and fifty at the time. There was only one teacher and class of about thirty students for every grade. There wasn’t a student or teacher that I didn’t know by name and because I had been going there since I was five years old, I really didn’t know any other way.…

It was the first day back at school for a new year. Many of us still longed to be on holiday, carefree and careless. It showed on our faces as we grumpily and wearily made our way along the corridors to our House Room. This year our form (11) had a new student. When we walked in we all just looked at him, scrutinizing, mentally noting anything unusual. There was something about him though, but I couldn't quite see it. Nobody interacted with him at first - the teachers were all around him, then he was set free, for us students to talk with him, I didn't talk to him myself, rather I just listened to the questions of others, which, he answered them faintly. They ask him questions to get him talking, to get him relaxed, but he simply answered the questions and nothing more. Soon the interest wore off and he was left all alone.…

The good thing was that it wasn’t just me who tried to have a conversation, they asked me questions all the time and we got really close from that day. Today they are my two best friends at school. It took me a little while to become not alienated at school, but I am so glad I came to The Northwood School. Bunch of really cool friends from all around the world, and it’s going to be a continuous experience that I don't think I will get anywhere…

Ring, spring break has finally started. Teenagers running down the halls of Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington DC, ready to have a relaxing one-week break before exams start. I walked out of the school to my bus; ready to be taken away to home sweet home. My family is staying in DC this week to meet old family members. I walked onto my bus and discovered that there was nowhere to sit by myself. I found a seat in the back next to a girl that was in my grade. I sat down and fell asleep immediately. A little bit later, my friend woke me up. I scrambled out of my seat and walked home. When I got home, I went upstairs directly to my room and flopped onto the bed. I woke up the next day to the sound of birds chirping outside my house. I checked the weather and wanted to take a stroll at the Lincoln Memorial…
