Ditching Narrative
No That’s my dad “I don’t know dude, we could get in so much trouble if we get caught, couldn’t we get a ticket?” April said with a shaky voice. “That’s why we won’t get caught. People do it all the time.” I told her reassuringly. Okay, to be completely honest I was scared. I acted calm, cool and collected on the outside but on the inside I was crying like a little girl. But still, I stayed chill. At least I think so. Until… DING! That was the bell. Its game time. I made my way to my locker to grab all of my stuff. On the walk there I think I was having like an adrenaline rush or something. Seriously, it felt like I was Sonic walking down those halls. As I was just going to close my locker.

What store are you guys in? Seriously we can’t find you guys anywhere. Ethan’s looked in like all the photo booths, which had people in them that were not you and Grayson.. Oh no!” “What happened?” I asked. “So um you know how I was scared we were going to get a ticket for ditching?...” April said very wearily. “There's a cop right across the mall near Macy’s, and it seems like he's looking for somebody.. Please tell me you guys aren’t in Macy’s.”\ “Actually, that’s exactly where we are so… Let’s go..!” Me and Gray hopped up. I didn’t know my way around the mall, so he grabbed my hand and started to pull me towards the other stores. I didn’t know whether or not to run or just act casual. I turned to my left and saw a family shopping for things, I looked over my shoulder to the right and there was the cop, staring me down. Me and Gray made a very unsmart decision and ran.
“ Woah theres two teens that look like they should be in school running away from me. Not suspicious at all..”
We ran to April and Ethan, and right as we got there, I had a feeling the cop wasn’t far behind us. As soon as April saw the cop she broke down into tears. But not sad tears, scared tears. I’m almost positive he saw us, and now we’re screwed. Or at least I’m screwed once I get home”
Just as she said that the cop, who was her dad, strolled over to where we were. He had his notepad out and hadn’t looked up at us. But as soon as he did…
“April is that you?! What are you doing not in school? You're not supposed to be here you’re supposed to be in French! Why would you do this it’s not like you to ditch?”
He went on and on. Seriously we got a 45 minute lecture, all of us, right there in the mall. That was probably the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to me in my life. But I bet it was way worse for April.
“You know what. I’m taking you guys all back to school and you're going to finish out the school day.”
“Yes sir.” we all said.
We all got a ride to school in a cop car. I mean I’d have to say that was a first for me. The best part was, when we got there it was most of our friends off period. So all of my friends got to see me, April, Ethan and Grayson hop out of a cop car and walk into school. I don’t really know if that was embarrassing or cool. All I know is that I’m never ditching class
