My Low Score
My low score tends to suggest that I am disorganized; however, I will try to rectify this weakness. First of all, I will make to-do lists for every area of importance in my life. This will keep me on task and sure to purchase what I need at the grocery store or complete what I am assigned in my college courses. In addition, I will write down my thoughts for the purpose of endeavoring to analyze when and why things have gone right and wrong. I hope to improve my communication and my thinking skills to be a better leader by writing things down; it will help me to sharpen my thinking, clear my mind, devastate negative self- talk and pay more attention to my most predominant emotions through the day. First of all, I will practice being more patient every day, and I will increase my ability to remain calm and cool in the face of stress. To accomplish this, I will get more exercise, practice deep breathing exercises, do meditation, and devote at least a half-hour each day to performing yoga. In addition, the next time I go the grocery store, I will get the longest line, and instead of going through the drive-thru at my bank, I will go inside. This will teach me patience. Furthermore, I will try to visualize peaceful scenes, such as places that will make me instantly feel calmer and at peace. Then, I will quickly find my breath returning to normal. Also, I will practice turning my attention elsewhere because it will help me focus on the present moment and prioritize my emotions. Finally, simply thinking of a pleasant memory or reading a book will help me find my happy place. All these techniques will aid me in avoiding neuroticism and being a happy, healthy, and contributing member of my family, society, and business

The first technique I used was imagery. After researching, I learned that in many studies imagery is used to reduce patient’s blood pressures. Basically its when you visualize in your head something that relaxes you or makes you happy. It could be you accomplishing a goal, doing an activity, or even a place. During the school week I often get overloaded with homework for hours. I sometimes stress on not being able to make a due date or not being able to finish on time and it leads to me giving up. This week in particular I felt like this. I took a five-minute break, lied down and imagined the last vacation I took. Imagining sounds such as the ocean hitting the rocks, smells such as the ocean water, touch such as the breeze against my hair and skin flowed the stress out of my body. I could feel my body heat decreasing, and my eyebrows unfurrowing. This is a great way to deal with…

Although I leave things towards the end, I still manage to get things done with passing quality. I have never missed an assignment deadline. I have also done very well in the 2 examinations I have taken during term 1 and 2. In both key skills and Human anatomy and Physiology modules I have achieved higher than 70 percent. We also had to present a presentation within random groups and I think that I performed fairly well in. I have been consistent with my attendance for lectures, practicals and tutorials. As I progress toward my smart goal I think I will feel nervous about staying on top of my goal and keeping myself in balance. The importance of my smart goal is to help me to stay better organized and work on positive ways that I can reduce my anxiety during test taking. I think my smart goal will help me with managing my stress when taking test and also become more organized in the future. I have always struggled with staying organized and managing my time from elementary school throughout high school. As a child in elementary school, I always had a backpack full of unnecessary papers that I did not really need. When it was time to actually turn in important homework assignments I would always find myself fumbling through a notebook full papers. As I continued moving up a grade each year I began to notice the workload become increasingly rigorous each year, but my organizational skills began to decrease. It was very difficult for me to manage my time and stay organized in school. Sometimes I would try to organize my notebook or even throw away unwanted items and papers that I did not need. My plan to get organized only lasted for a week as I slipped right back into my normal…
