My Junior Year Essay
It all started my junior year of high school. I was excited to begin my wonderful journey in Future Farmers of America. I was nervous but the road ahead of me was going to be an awesome experience. Some of my experiences include showing my animals, the competitions I attended, being a FFA officer and going to the state convention, also have an end of the year banquet, and also meeting wonderful people throughout my experience. It was the best two years of my life. It all started my junior year when I decided I wanted to start out showing rabbits. I had a total of four beautiful California Rabbits. I had to tend to them every day. Some of my responsibilities included clipping their nails, bathing them every day, feeding and watering, and …show more content…
To become an officer you had to make a speech about why you would be a good officer. Also take a test over the history of FFA, and people would vote on who they wanted. I did not think that I was the type of person to make officer, but I tried and I made it! Along with this responsibility I was the chaplain as well. Since I was given this position I had responsibilities that I had to take care of. Some of those responsibilities include state convention, planning meetings, making prayers, and attending different school programs. The beginning of my senior year we went to state convention and it was the best summer of my life. The state convention was for picking the new state officers for the following year. I was able to meet so many different people, and experience a different side of FFA. They had a lot of speeches we had to listen to and we also had to give one as well. The topic was “Why is FFA Important to you?” We gave a wonderful speech and everyone enjoyed it. State convention was so much fun, we got a concert provided to us and got to roam the Fort Worth stockyards for the weekend. Being an officer was not always easy though we had to conduct speeches and make sure everyone was on task with what they had to do. Sometimes things were tough but overall it was worth every

One moment I had that I will never forget is when my friend Libby Bridges who is another teen in PFO, was sharing HER impactful moment to the leadership team. I was sitting there and listening to her talk about how she used to be afraid that she will never make an impact on the world. Libby is a person that I really look up to in PFO. She shows impeccable leadership skills and she has the kindest heart. To hear her talk about her fears and watching her be so vulnerable makes me start to cry. In this moment I realized how surrounded by love I was, and how grateful I was for the opportunity PFO has given me. PFO has given me the chance to make beautiful connections and bonds that I wouldn't trade for anything.…

Life for the American woman in the 19th century was full of conflicts and struggles. 12763502660015Many Jews were released from Buchenwald concentration camp in Germany. Thousands of Jews ran from the Buchenwald Camp as the resistance and the American army fought the Nazis - under the authority of Adolf Hitler. There are few Jewish survivors. Survivor Val Ginsburg sent a letter to Hírek Expert explaining his experience during the Holocaust. “When Hitler invaded Lithuania, my family chose to stay rather than flee, as we thought that direction under him would be better than our communist town. I was put to work as a slave laborer in the ghettos of Kaunas. All of my family was executed and I am the only one left. It is truly devastating.” Yesterday, April 10th, Jews planned to evacuate the premises, and the Buchenwald Camp would be liquidated. This took place at 10 o’clock am, and just minutes after, the first grenades and gunshots sounded, and the underground resistance started to rebel. Jews were told that they were to go towards the Appelplatz, as they were departing from the Buchenwald camp. This was when and where the underground resistance struck first. This rebellion occurred because certain people were opposed to the way the Jews were being treated, so they made a plan to annihilate the people who treated them like they didn’t want to be treated. This rebellion occurred because the resistance planned the rebellion. The American tanks arrived with armed men, guns, and grenades. Eliezer Wiesel, also a Holocaust survivor shares his thoughts on the Holocaust. “It was a miracle how the resistance happened, as I didn’t think I would make it out alive. My faith faltered during the first months, because of the events that have occurred. The Nazis treated us awfully, and the image and smell of people being burned, shot, and slaughtered will never leave my mind as long as I am alive.” These events have changed the lives of people all around the world: the people who were…

Reluctantly smearing sunblock over every exposed inch of my fifty-three pound body, I prepared mentally for the arduous task that lay ahead of me. After several miserable fishing ventures which had left my skin red and my hook bare, I felt certain that, at last, my day had arrived. I stood ready to clear the first hurdle of manhood, triumph over fish. At the age of seven, I was confident that my rugged, strapping body could conquer any obstacle. Pity the fish that would become the woeful object of the first demonstration of my male prowess.…
