My Experience As A Clinical Assistant
In response to the Job posting on ScribeAmerica’s main website I have attached my resume for your review. I hope that you will consider me for one of the medical scribe positions which are open. I am currently an undergraduate biology major at the University of San Francisco. I am applying for this position because volunteering, lab experience and my studies have inspired me to try and gain more experience in healthcare.

I believe that my experiences are well suited for being a medical scribe because I can offer previous clinical experience from when I volunteered at Saint Louise Regional Hospital. During my time there, I realized just how much a medical scribe was needed across all the different departments. Many doctors were struggling to get to all of their appointments because they had so much paperwork to fill out. As a result, I know from firsthand experience how important medical scribes are in today’s hospital setting. One of ScribeAmerica’s mission statements or ‘Creeds’ was that Scribes have to carry a legacy by dealing with difficult situations. I think my experience at the hospital has exposed me to many different difficult situations and prepared me for them.

For example, the lab I work for does research on the CMV virus. As a result, I have picked up on the names of a few cancer treatment drugs and on the general anatomy of a human.

I believe that my strong interest in healthcare and my previous experiences have prepared me to become a strong medical scribe at ScribeAmerica. Should you be interested in my qualifications, I would be happy to discuss them in person. I am very grateful for your time and consideration.

I feel that with my knowledge and understanding of this course, I would be an excellent candidate for the position of Medical Coder at North Bay Medical Hospital. A year ago, my mother was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. She passed away the following year. As I went through her medical bills, I found numerous billing errors. I was understandably upset during this time. I contacted her doctor’s office and spoke with Betty. She was the most understanding and reliable person I had ever dealt with. After she resolved all of my issues, I thought “that’s the kind of work I want to do. I enrolled in Penn Foster and excelled in my Medical Billing and Coding course. I also feel that my mother would be very proud of me.…

The University of Cincinnati seems a foreign concept for a Colombian-born, Miami native, but I didn't learn about UoC, and its medical school, from advisors or peers, I actually learned about it through an alumni, Dr. Micheal Brazda. I worked with Dr. Brazda during my four years as a physician scribe at Baptist Hospital of Miami. My encounters were fleeting, you see, Dr. Brazda rarely used scribes. Why? Because he spent so much time with patients, listening to them, that he had no use for a scribe. But on one miraculous evening, due to an unforeseen scheduling error, I was able to work alongside him. His style of treating patients, his bed-side manner, his compassion, it was enchanting, and the absolute exception. When I asked him about his…

I am applying for the position of medical receptionist at Cooper, Wolowitz, and Associates at your Ephrata location. I am most interested in applying for this position with your office for the weekly hours, salary package, sign-on bonus, and medical benefits package. The office hours are great being Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4pm and one Saturday a month 7am to 3pm. The salary package is pretty inviting with $13.50 an hour, Holiday pay for all major holidays worked, and 1 week paid vacation after 1 year of employment. The sign-on bonus of $1,500.00 after 6 months of employment is an added plus. The medical benefits package consisting of medical, Dental, vision, and workman’s compensation is also an added plus being extremely affordable. Secondly, I became very motivated and excited to work in the Medical Administrative field because of a family member whom I was very close to. My Great-Aunt was a very positive and influential person in my life who taught me to follow my dreams and always stop to help others. She always taught me that the medical field was a growing and awarding field to work within which ever branch you decided to work in. My Great-Aunt always said “To work with in the medical field in any aspect will always fill your heart and life with joy.” This has always stuck with me as I grew up and when it came to deciding which path to take in life I always thought back to what she said. I realized I would love to be in the medical field because I love working with growing families, our aging population, different kinds of other people, and mainly because I love the office aspect of the field. I feel I would be a vital asset to your team of office workers because I am very good with computers, well organized/detail oriented, an effective communicator, and work very well with others.…

I further explored my interest in medicine by becoming an Emergency Department scribe. As a scribe, I learned to work on a team with medical professionals and to incorporate effective communication to ensure the correct medical orders were placed. I was trained to write patient's medical narratives while also extracting vital information to place clinical orders in advance which decreased wait time for treatment. Scribing has taught me that I am capable of working long hours while also remaining alert with each interaction and how to work effectively and professionally when given a restricted time limit.…

While reviewing these charts, I became interested in the medical coding that I would read on the plan of care. Since I have not had any job satisfaction since I was downsized, I felt it was time to take a step to get myself into a position that is more fulfilling than the one I have now. I have talked with people I work with about medical coding, and they suggested I look into it as they felt it would be a good fit for me. I like a job that is challenging, makes me think, and work hard. Becoming a medical coder is a position I feel that will be challenging because it will make me think, and it is also a job which, I would say, consists of doing investigative work as you are looking into a book to find the most accurate code you need in order to tell the “story” of the patient’s diagnosis and services rendered.…
