INT. MRI MACHINE - DAY
Morris lies on his back on the motorized bed, his eyes are closed. He has his head in a MRI phantom cradle. Padding is placed around his neck and body. A strap lies across his body. MRI TECHNICAN, presses a button on the MRI machine and Morris enters the machine head first.
The sound of a door slams shut.
MRI TECHNICAN (O.C.)
(talking through an intercom)
This scan will take 115 minutes. I’ll come in to give you contrast midway through, just don’t move.
The MRI machine makes a loud thumping noise.
INT. DR. YISH’S OFFICE - DAY
DR. YISH, is in his early 50s, sitting up firmly in his chair as he holds up the MRI film. He closely examines it, as NURSES and PATIENTS walk past his door. He has a 1980s, short, flattop

I’ll see you when he comes out.
A team of nurses push Morris towards the operation room. Olivia and Dr. Yish walk behind them. Sandy stands there just watching as she puts her hand to her neck.
INT. OPERATION ROOM - EVENING
Dr. Yish and two other doctors stand around the operation table. They are all wearing gowns, gloves, masks, and proper eyewear. Dr. Yish wears a full face shield. Olivia stands next to Dr. Yish’s side.
A bright white light shines onto Morris’s face. Dr. Yish appears in front of the light, looking at Morris. Morris lies in the supine position - with his back flat on the operation table. His eyes are shut. Dr. Yish has his hand facing palm up towards Olivia.
DR. YISH
Scalpel.
She hands it to him. Dr. Yish makes an incision in Morris’s neck with the scalpel.
INT. WAITING ROOM - EVENING
The hospital window shows the sun is setting, and it’s starting to get dark outside. Sandy has her hand to her mouth, thinking deeply as she paces back and forth.
MRS. GOODMAN, is in her late 80s. She walks with a cane to her seat looking frail and sick. She wears a wool hat over her short pinned up hair. Wearing vintage 1940 eyeglasses. She puts her hands out trying to grab the chair before she sits down. Pat assists

(to Pat)
Thank you, darling.
ASHLEY, 4, Pat’s daughter, runs madly around the waiting room. She has tight curls in her hair, which perfectly describes her personality - rumbustious and crazy.
She wears a brightly heart colored sweater with a matching ribbon barrette in her hair. She has pink neon eyeshadow splashed on her eyelids, clearly she did it herself.
Mrs. Davis sits next to Pat, she touches Pat’s arm. Pat looks up -- Mrs. Davis talks to her. Sandy is just about to walk towards Pat. Pat signals for her to come join them.
Pat, Sandy, Mrs. Goodman, Mrs. Davis, and Mr. Davis hold hands and close their eyes. Mrs. Davis leads them in prayer.
INT. OPERATION ROOM - EVENING
Dr. Yish grabs a burr from Olivia. It spins in the air. The rest of the doctors are working on Morris’s neck. Dr. Yish puts the burr in Morris’s neck, removing the spurs. On the monitor which stands behind Dr. Yish it shows him extracting the spurs.
Standing on the opposite side of the table DR. BARRY, 55, curettes the cartilage. The camera shows Dr. Barry scrape the side of Morris’s first cervical vertebrae.
He picks up the cartilage holding it in mid-air, closely examining it. The light hits his face, his forehead looks shiny from
