    Star Wars

Though Star Wars has always been around for me to watch, I never took the initiative to watch it until now. It was fairly easy for me to realize that it was et "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away," where we learn of the adventures of Luke Skywalker, a lowly who finds himself stranded in the middle of an intergalactic civil war after encountering R2D2 and C3P0, which were two droids that had the secret and covert plans to help develop an engine of destruction known as the Death Star. It ends up that Luke ends up bringing both robots to Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, unexpectedly, Obi-Wan leads the diverse crew into the headquarters of the evil Empire via the starship of smuggler Han Solo and his Wookie sidekick, Chewbacca. The heroes ultimately rescue the captured Princess Leia and simultaneously escape the Death Star just in time to lead a rebel assault against the space station and its leader, Darth Vader. Star Wars, being the hit that it was, it’s clear that it resulted in a new technique with creating and conceptualizing films in Hollywood. In its efforts to obtain commercial success, Star Wars created a chain reaction of other high-budget films that were heavy on effects and novel, out-of-this-world concepts. Being released during a period where heroes were brought down by national catastrophes, it seems as if Star Wars brought the notion of a romantic hero back to life. Although it was the farthest thing from being realistic, it gave the people of the United States a chance to dream for new hopes and…

I read in a news article the other day that the legislature is considering to pass a law to where we wouldn’t be able to watch any violent movies from the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. What is the legislature really thinking, that is all day, 5 am to 10 pm. Okay the legislature decides to take all violent movies away from us. I can gurantee you that somehow someway, someone somewhere will find a way to watch them no matter what. We have the right to speak up if we don’t agree, I mean we do have the Freedom of Speech. But these days who knows, because it seems like if we speak up about things we get shunned for it, or there is no reason. Honestly, I feel like it’s a bad idea, it’s like what else do they want to take away from us.…

We have all experienced those feelings we get when we sit down to watch a horror movie. We feel that little adrenaline rush when we see a character in a movie trying to escape a knife-wielding-psycho that is endlessly chasing them and we feel that jump out of your skin feeling when the evil guy suddenly pops into the scene from out of nowhere. Then the movie ends, you sigh a breath of relief that it’s over and there is nothing to be scared of. But did you know that there are a few movies out there that were based on real life events?…

After watching the movie Zombieland I noticed that it was a very gory film, but I didn’t find it scary just very disgusting. It was interesting to see that only a hand full of humans survived the violence from the zombies. In the movie Columbus struggled to survive because before the zombies took over he was full of anxiety and was very fearful of being around people. He made a list of things on what to do to survive in the world, but the zombies overrode everything that was on his list. For example the comedy part in the movie had to do with these items that he has listed like, #1 Cardio- he said that if you can’t run then you can’t outrun a bear just your buddy and he said that the fatties were among the first to go because they are easy to catch. A few of the other list was “Beware of the bathroom” and always “Double tap.” That’s more of a comedy part of the movie. Columbus had other things that he had written on his list that made me laugh and that were very comical in the entire movie. The horror part of the movie had to do with the character Tallahassee was the guy that no one wanted to mess with, his job was shooting and killing zombies he had more of the horror parts of this movie and his character clearly enjoyed killing these zombies. But in all of this violence all he really wanted was his twinkles. This film was a lot of fun, but the ending dragged on they could have cut out a few scene.…

The Philippines in general, with the exemption of few indigenous communities, may well be considered a modern country, living in modern times and hospitable as its people are aptly renowned to be, they play host to people from various cultures. In other words, we have been living in a diverse or multicultural setting, it has always been our way of life to understand, accommodate, accept and coexist peacefully despite people’s culturally diversified prejudices in the community. The same is true with our policing which is naturally expected to reflect our way of life. Hence, no matter how we may call or describe our policing or base it from whatever model, our policing has always been multicultural. And so to be able to treat the question with justice, it is imperative to establish a clear understanding of the concepts involved in what we refer now as multicultural policing or enforcing laws in a multicultural setting.…
