Motivation Letter For St. Jude
If selected as leader, I would use my friendliness and enthusiasm to encourage the Volunteens to build friendships, learn about St. Jude, and develop a commitment for giving back. Because of the relationships I made during the program, I would urge new Volunteens to build the same, long-term friendships. Additionally, as a varsity cheerleader, I’m used to motivating and exciting others to follow my passion; therefore, I would love to share my appreciation for St Jude with the Volunteens, and encourage them to gain as much as possible from the experience through speaking events, asking questions, and patient interactions. My hardworking, friendly and creative personality would promote a fun environment for the volunteers as well as the children

Most of St. Jude’s patients are children. Patients that come to St. Jude are those that have been referred by a physician, have been diagnosed with a disease currently under study, and are eligible for a research protocol. St. Jude is the only pediatric research center for children with catastrophic diseases, including cancer and blood disorders, where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance (St. Jude, 2017). In fact, no family ever pays St. Jude for anything. Transportation, housing and food are among the no-cost services provided so that the families that come to St. Jude can focus on their child. No child is ever denied treatment due to race, sex, nationality, ethnicity, religion, or the family’s ability to pay. St. Jude…

John Brockett stepped foot in the New Haven Colony in 1638 as one of its chief founders and civil engineers. He was appointed the first surgeon for the colonies’ soldiers, and served in King Philip’s War under this role. His son, my 8th great-grandfather, would receive medical training at Oxford and return to America as the first resident physician in the New Haven Colony. At this time, ailments of the chest were treated with poultices and prayer. Little could my ancestors imagine that the heart and lungs could be put on bypass, that aortic valves would be threaded through the arterial system on a catheter, or that lung resections could be completed through three small incisions in the chest.…

The profession of nursing has a notable history of being highly honored for its strong dedication to public health service. Nurses not only provide services for health promotion and management of chronic conditions, but also strive to provide health education related to prevention and public safety. This legislation is detrimental to support the demand for improving outcomes, guiding all levels of efforts in addressing the nation’s health, and increasing the likelihood of preventing these diseases while decreasing the mortality rates for people who are at risk. A designated Chief Nurse Officer position would reinforce and meet these demands. The National Nurse for Public Health will continue to be able to cooperate in identifying the priorities of the nation’s health, initiate an urge for nurse volunteerism while building a strong relationship between health-related national organizations and government…
