Abstract
This essay is will define marketing. Explain the importance of marketing in organizational success. Provide examples from the business world that will support the explanations provided in the essay.

Definition of Marketing
Marketing has several definitions. Marketing is the process in which organizations seek out to satisfying customers through advertisement in order to sell a product. Companies use different ideas in order to get the buyers attention. According to "Business Dictionary" (2010), “The management process through which goods and services move from concept to customer.” Another definition of marketing is explained according to Investopedia.com is “The activities of a company with buying and selling product or services. It includes advertising, selling and delivering products to people.”(para. 1).

Importance of Marketing
Marketing helps business grow and become successful. For example the corporation Home Depot started out with one store in Georgia. The founder of home depot decided to advertise and make his products less expensive than its competitor hardware stores. Home Depot catered to the home builder by allowing the home builder to be able to repair and build items itself and save money in the process. Now today Home Depot have millions of store within the United States and overseas. According to "The Importance Of Marketing For The Success Of A Business" (n.d.), “The heart of your business success lies in its marketing.
