1. Trees are essential for the existence of human race as they provide the oxygen that we need to survive. Yet, all around the globe large areas of woodland are being destroyed. Many people feel as individuals they can do nothing and that only government and multinational companies can halt this destruction. How far do you agree or disagree with this?

2. More and more qualified people are moving from poor to rich countries to fill vacancies in specialist areas like computing, medicine and engineering. Some people believe that by encouraging the movements of such people rich countries are stealing the poor countries, others feel it as a part of natural movement of workers around the world. What is your opinion?

3. In achieving personal happiness our relationship with other people (family, friends and colleagues) are more important than anything else. Issues such as work and wealth take a second place. Do you agree or disagree?

4. Water is an increasingly valuable resource, but many people continue to waste a lot of it. Some governments want to impose permanent water restrictions on domestic and agricultural use. Others feel we should put more effort into recycling water. To what extent do you agree with these two situations?

5. The number of overweight children in developing countries is increasing. Some people think this is due to the problems such as the growing number of fast food outlets. Others believe that parents are to blame for not looking after their children’s health. To what extent do you agree with these views?

6. Today, the high sales of popular consumer goods reflect the power of advertising and not the real need of the society in which they are sold. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
