Test portion was put in the bowl and placed it in the centrifuge machine .Then methylene chloride is poured in the bowl until its cover the test portion . Sufficient time is allowed for the solvent to disintegrate the test portion.

The bowl and cover is clamped and the machine started to extract the bitumen from test portion until the extract cease flow from the drain. 400-600mm solvent is added and the same procedure are repeated until the solvent flowing from the machine is clear.
The filter ring is remove from the bowl and brush of the mineral matter adhering to the surface of the ring and added to the extracted aggregates.Bowl with the extracted aggregates is placed in the oven to dry it. Determine the mass of filter ring and extracted sample.

SIEVE ANALYSIS
After getting the binder content, Extracted aggregates are put in the sieves and sieve shaker is turn on. The extracted aggregates are separated to individual sizes. Then the individual size aggregates is weigh to get the mass.

PREPARING MARSHALL SAMPLES
To achieved 135 c temperature test portion is heated using wok method . Then placed it in the mould and papers are being put below and on top of the sample. 75 blows is applied on both side of the specimen using marshall compactor . After compaction let the sample cool down and then remove the specimen using marshall extruder.

DENSITY TEST
Put the specimens on the balance to get mass of the specimen in the air.
Then weigh the sample in the water to get the mass of the specimen in the water
The surface of speciment is wiped the dry it then the sample is put on the balance
