Media Representation Essay
1) Examine the issue of representation in your media project focusing on one of the following topics: gender, ethnicity, sexuality, or age.
In our video project, we used Mise en scene elements to make the video more emotional. Therefore, this essay will use one of the elements of Mise en scene which is content elements to analyse the representation of ethnicity about the video, also points out the issues of representation on our video project.
We used two characters who came from NTU with different nationalities, however they came from a same background. One of the girl named Beth who is a Caucasian and the other named Sarah who is an Asian.

For example in his book flat earth news and Nick Davies claims that within the newsroom of the Daily Mail, there was much more coverage on the lifes of white people compared to non- white people so for example in relation to the victims of crime, Nick Davis seems to imply that the Daily Mail are much more interested in the victim of crime if this people happen to be white
In the year 2005 a BBC news online survey noted that black and Asian people were represented as newscast as in television journalists but that the range of roles that ethnic minority act his play in television dramas is still very limited and the survey also noted the ethnic minority audiences were also very hostile towards tokenism.
So ethnic minorities people complained black and Asian people are rarely shown as an ordinary citizens that more often that played black roles the behavior are shaped by their ethnic identity.
