“His wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing.”-(Angelou) The author is declaring that the bird is being restrained but it’s voice is heard. In this course of time, announcing the obvious disrespect was the only way to call attention to a particular situation. The caged bird “stalks down his narrow cage can seldom see through his bars of rage”-(Angelou) is expressing that African Americans are extremely upset because they were and still are living through this experience. African Americans were and still are seen different to society. She,Maya Angelou, is someone that hoped for a better outcome of the situations that African Americans faced.
