In the following scenario, we see the needs of a small grocery retailer identified by the two speakers: Matt and Grace. In Matt’s dialogue, we see the need for increased technology represented. Matt has been influenced by an e-commerce seminar that has apparently identified the need for small businesses to utilize web technology in order to increase revenue. This has impressed upon Matt the need to rely upon a website to attract a younger consumer base, to provide a convenience to elderly shoppers, and to increase revenue through the implementation of an e-shopping option. Grace’s dialogue; however, represents another set of needs. Specifically, her concerns relate to ensuring that technological adaptation does not disrupt their present business model or adopt …show more content…
Specifically, this report should include basic market research that analyzes consumer habits and demographics. This report should also provide current and accurate estimates about present store budgeting factors including revenue, expenses, and projected profit and loss margins based upon the proposal for plan implementation (University of Akron, 2016). While the consultant will provide more in-depth research, this preliminary report will save Matt and Grace both time and money in terms of consultation fees. It will also be helpful for this report to include specifics about the proposal; merely stating the company objective is to develop a website will not be sufficient. It will be imperative for Matt and Grace to specifically identify their objectives in terms of the project’s life cycle. This will help in terms to “establish clear deadlines and the expected results” (Ray, 2016, para 1). It will also benefit the consultant, as he/she will be better able to provide the company owners with specific solutions and
