Math Is No Fun
I’m having mixed emotions about this class due simply to the fact that mathematics has never been my strong suit. Although, I’m excited about the opportunity to expand upon my skills in the subject, which I feel is much needed, all while checking off another class off the graduation checklist.
I would really like to gain more confidence in math and test taking over the course of this semester. I have a tendency to get a little dyslexic with numbers especially on tests, which tends to be my number one concern with math.
This will be my first time back in a math classroom since studying algebra, geometry, and trigonometry in high school. I do feel a little nervous about getting back in the swing of things but going forward with the best attitude possible about the class. I’m hoping to breakthrough with arithmetic this semester and I feel somewhat confident in my ability to do so if I can eliminate some of my bad habits with math.
I’d say that I best learn math while studying in a group due to the fact that I really like to talk problems out and hear others do so. I also learn better following along in lectures although I have a little tendency to fall behind.
I believe this will be a good semester and am looking to get a lot out of it. Although I’m nervous about fighting with my old “worst” subject again, I’m excited to acquire some valuable skills that I will carry with myself over the course of my

I’m excited about starting this new classroom and nervous about starting my Master classes. The fact that I was able to complete a workshop prior to that class starting has taken a weight off my shoulders. At least I won’t have to worry about a new classroom setting in addition to a new class.…

This semester, I learned abundance amount of information that I did not know before and I took each and every new knowledge into heart. I learn about parallelism, misplaced modifier, PIE, commas, i.e./e.g., entry points/ strategies, active vs. passive verbs, and not using ‘you’ in academic writing and more but what stood out to me the most was PIE. Every topic I learned in this class will be in use toward my major but mostly in future papers. This semester, I learned point illustration explanation (PIE) in my writing skills which will be valuable in my future college papers.…

My eleventh grade year was arduous. Not only was I concerned about passing five Georgia High School Graduation Tests (GGT), but math III was complex. math III was full of foreign concepts and equations. Overtime, I grew excited about learning new concepts in math III. My teacher was a great influence upon me. He regularly encouraged me to work hard. With his support and endless determination I was committed to succeeding. A few weeks went by and class was going great. We were learning how to plot linear functions, factor polynomials, and how to find missing sides on a right triangle. I was very consistent with studying and reviewing past assignments. I knew if I did not study I would not pass the tests. As the end of the semester grew near, I grew concerned about the final exam partly because I had forgotten a few of the earlier lessons in the class.…

In order to prepare to teach a unit on math to grade one students, I had to become familiar and comfortable with the Curriculum Guide and Program of Study. By reading the material I would need for this particular group of students, I began to slowly feel more comfortable with the task at hand. I also talked to my peers and related my fears and insecurities to them. I quickly discovered that a great deal of my inhibitions are linked to past experiences with math. When this became clear to me, I then was able to face those emotions and move beyond them. I took the next step, breaking the unit into smaller ideas - individual lessons - and diving into the research.…

Well what I like about this class is that when ever I have a question you will answer me and when ever I don’t understand something you would try to explain it t me again .I know I would get frustrated but that’s because I have too much stress. What I didn’t like the class was when we learned about the F.O.I.L it confuse me at the end when you have to put all number and variable together. The other thing I didn’t like is some people in the class room are not going to say no names. What I enjoy learning was almost everything but I really enjoy learning was logarithms. I like because u don’t have to do a lot of steps and it really easy .Well I had trouble learning the functions at the begging but then I try and try until I got it . It took me almost a week to learn it. The thing that I could have done to improve my grade to all my work and to never say NO am not going to do it, and not to get mad when I can’t do something or when I have problem solving something . If I was the teacher I would teach the student the easy way on solving the problem. And I would not just give them work on the board I would go over it with them because if I give them the work the some of them not going to do it. And I would also change the room and how is set up. I thin I did well throughout this semester in this class because in my other class I have all C this the only class I have A in. I also enjoy being in this class because I get alone with almost every body. The topic in algebra 2 that we cover and I have a lot of trouble was absolute Value I do understand it but some time the negative sing just confuses me a lot. I really don’t like working with negative number because the are really confusing like when you have a negative and a positive together some time you have to change the sing when ever you get your answer or you have to add and get the sign from the bigger number all the stuff confuse me. This all I have to say MR.…

This is the most challenging course I’ve taken so far.
