However, she had always known that wanted to become a nurse’s aid just like her mother was. Her first job was assisting her school’s nurse in washing sheets and cleaning counters. After graduating high school, she decided to stay home to be with her parents, rather than going off to college (but if you ask her, she attended Hard Knocks). However, while at home, Mary Kay began to grow a deeper passion for wanting to become a nurse’s aid. After only four months of being out of high school she got a job of being nurse’s aid at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, the same hospital where her mother worked at when she was much younger. (At those times, nurses and nurse’s aids didn’t need to have much of an education in order to become one).
